I just graduated with my BSN degree...My future plans are to move hopefully within the next 5 years (to an island, if I have my way)...I have accepted a job on a med/surg - oncology floor...I wanted to work on the oncology side...which the manager said was no problem...I can work either side because they need nurses. I am suppose to start internship June 12th....The problem is now I have started thinking maybe I should go on the med-surg side just to be able to build a good basic allround background. What do you guys think would be the better side to work...or does it really matter? I guess what I'm trying to ask is what would give me the better allround experience to aide with my new job search when I do decide to move. Any and all opinions & advice will greatly be appreciated.
thanks,
deb

You are going to develop excellent med-surg skills on either side, the oncology will give you the added boost of becoming chemo certified.
Thanks Suzanne for the reply...I am trying to plot my path, so it all works out when we do move...I finally convinced hubby that we needed to move somewhere, that offers the things we love to do...So now I have to focus on learning as much as can and start saving up for a move in the future.
Hugs,
