U.S.A. Rhode Island

Published

i currently reside in nevada i work in general IMC and i currently make about $31 and hour. (5 yr experience, night shift)

i was wondering how much i'm looking at in pay. i also would like to know how it's like to work in nj, patient to nurse ratio, are there 12 hour shifts, how much do we pay the union?

I'm a single mother of 3, and i'm sure the cost of living in Nevada is different then a city in RI.....so what's the cost of living?? I'm currently selling my 1600sqft house for about 299k and i need to find out where is good place to live and if the houses are affordable

PLEASE GET BACK TO ME SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Hi, I was relocated to Providence (from MI) 2 yrs ago by Rhode Island Hospital and have been very pleased with the wages, working conditions, and nurse patient ratios there. I've been an RN for 7 yrs and am making $31.01/hr on eves top pa scale id $38/hr. We get raises twice/yearly with a minimum annual incease of 6%. This is mostly due to the union contract. This is my first experience with being in a union and couldn't be happier! Dues are $9/wk which is nothing when you see how helpful they are. This representation gives members increased job security. RIH offers a great benefit package as well.

The down side of living in RI is the home prices ...which have sky rocketed in the last few years! I had to move 50 min away from work (to CT )in order to afford a decent home. All things considered , my decision to move has been a good one.

I am a new LPN in Fort Myers Fl. I started in LTC at $17 base pay, with a differential of $1.40 for the evening shift. Sign-up is $500 after 3 months. It's not that much compared to what other people make, but it is a start...

i moved here in ri from nc 2 yrs ago.i have more than 12 years nursing experience and base salary in rhode island hospital is almost $35.$2/hr night differential and $3.50/hr weekend differential.health insurance is affordable and really good.me and my kid had surgery.never paid anything.work opportunities as well as pay especially if you do an overtime(8 hrs over your scheduled 8 hrs is paid double) is super great.i love my job here.i am just not so happy with the weather(long winter).houses are also expensive.you need to have a minimum of $250,000 to get a decent house in a fairly good neighborhood(with good school system). maybe, you can't really get everything.goodluck,anyway...
