Hi,,Im a newly NLE2007 board passer,,actually im so bored waiting for this result, thank God I passed...
I dont know what should i do after oath and getting my liscense,, Actually i have so many plans in my mind.. Now,I want to work in hospital but i still dont have my liscense, and if i work i dont know if i will going to volunteer or a regular staff nurse because im planning to apply for NCLEX... then my mom want me to work in call center while waiting for my liscense...
Also my friend, a new board passer is so eager to work in US even without a 2 year experience...Is that possible to work in US without the 2year mandatory working experience?

you do not need work experience to work in the US but it is better to gain some and with current retrogression and that it will take a few years to move to the US then may as well gain that experience. I would say the same goes for you , no one knows how long retrogression is going to last so may as well gain experience

you dont have to be in a hurry there are lot, thousands who are waiting for the visa, who are affected by retrogression. well in your case lets see if you pass the nclex and start the petition process and following the usual visa flow expect youll be in the US 2015.

yeah, i know the feeling when you are playing the waiting game....i suggest wait for license first and try your best to get a job asap...if you can afford not to be " volunteer slave/newbie without pay", try to get a job that actually pays you. working in a call center wont help you practice your skills..your mama probably think it will help you gain some income...but you will lose in the long run... focus on looking for a job first. do yourself a favor, work first, to gain confidence and feel how it is like to work as a nurse. you may want to take nclexrn stat, but you won't be able to get out of the country in a snap because there is a retrogression going on, meaning no visa for nurses who wants to work here in the usa. yeah, you may not need a work experience there in pi to work here in us of a, but i beleive in the philippines, they wont let you get out just like that without "serving" your country for 2 years..remember, there are thousands of nurses before you who is contemplating to work in this land of milk and honey....but i am 100% sure they are waiting to for the retro to be lifted...relax. patience is a virtue.

well, I had the same feeling after I took and passed the board exam, I almost wanted to do everything :uhoh21:.. then I realized, it's just me who is so excited of my license wanting to do this and that...
I advised you to take each step one at a time, get your hospital experience, get a good agency (if you want some help), pass the Nclex, ToEFL and wait.... and i mean wait . Retrogression isn't over, believe it or not, you just added yourself to the thousands of nurses stranded waiting for a lift...
although, work experience is really not an issue in going to US, but I do believe that being a nurse is not developed through books alone, you need to practice it and feel the worth. Besides, the more years of experience the higher your value (kiddin' but true )
gOOdluck to you ...
Thanks you so much...i feel good when i read the replies... Actually im not in a hurry,,only my friends,i advice them to read some threads here that they may needed..

It is not true. It all goes on place of birth so doesn't matter where you live if retrogression is in place and mainly affecting certain countries due to high demand then you are still affected if born in them countries.
Thanks,,uuhhhmmm so you mean even i will work in London or any country then become a citizen there and already pass my nclex and all requirements, still retrogression will affect me even im a citizen of other country? :)
hello again,,question again but its about IELTS, because of retrogression, i think i should take first IELTS before nclex, because i have relatives in canada so i think i can work there when there are still retrogression...do you think my decision is correct,, what can you say? and does IELTS is lifetime, i mean does it have expiration???
Need some advice, pls...
:) im not in hurry, i will still work here in my country, Im just planning.. hehehe :)

Hi there...
I just wanna ask if when did that retrogression took effect?
And is it possible for you to work in other countries for the meantime then decide to trasfer to the US after the retrogression has been lifted?
Yes retrogression will affect you even if you become a citizen of another country as it is done on birth but if you become a citizen say of Canada then I believe you can take advantage of the TN visa and work in the US

There is no reason why you can't work in Canada whilst waiting for retrogression but be aware that if things move more quickly than you expected and you are tied with a contract in Canada as well as US something may give and you may have a cancellation fee to pay. This is something you could discuss with relevant hospitals. Plus still take time to go through the process even if going to Canada and you will have to pass their exam
Good luck to whatever you decide
