Hi all! I Just got licensed and I've been looking for a job for a few days. I'm coming across very few entry level positions for LPNs in Atlanta. Does anyone know of any hospitals that are hiring LPNs right now? And if there are hospitals hiring, what is the LPNs role?
Thank You!!

Hmmm... You can try Grady Memorial Hospital. I've heard of openings at the clinics and med surg floor. Outside of atlanta; Cartersville Medical Center med-surg floors. And NorthSide Cheorokee in Canton. The last 2 may be out of the way but i hear they pay well. The type of work is similar to RN. there are excepetions of course. Each hospital policy is diff. Good Luck!

Congratulations on getting your license. As I have been job hunting, I am finding that you need to get to the small county hospitals to find LPN jobs. The further away from the city you go, the more opportunity presents itself. The hospitals close to Atlanta seem to be focused on becoming 'magnet' hospitals and are not hiring LPN's this year.
thanks for the replies. i would really like to start out in a hospital in the city, but i guess i'll take what i can get!

Congrats on passing!!! I was looking too for once I pass and I noticed a job at Scotish rite Children's hospital they said they will hire new grad . I was looking 2 wks ago check and see if it's still and opening. Also do you have any advice for studying for the boards.
to op, they may hire at choa, i checked their website and they do have 1 ambulatory position. it doesn't hurt to try of course here's link their website. www.choa.org
good luck!
Thanks for the advice...everyone! I used Saunders for the most part. I used Lippincott's also. I thought Saunders was more thorough. From what I hear, people get all different types of questions. I got only basic meds questions and no cultural questions. I did 4700 practice questions, but I can't say with confidence that they helped me at all. My questions seemed to relate exactly to what I had learned in class!
Do the practice questions and don't sweat it. It's really not that bad. You'll do fine.

OP, I was looking for hospital sites on Wed, Check out Tanner Healthcare about 30 min west of ATL. Northside.org had a couple and Emory had some clinic positions. Also, checkout agapecenter.org it has a listing of all the georgia hospitals. Just visit there websites!! Hope this helps!

There's a town about an hour north of Atlanta (Jasper) that is often looking for nurses. THey recently built a new facility. They had a bad reputation in the past, but from what I've heard (I moved out of state) they pay top dollar to get nurses and keep them.....they're trying to improve their image.
