Question about Fl Hosp hours of work

Published

Hi, can anybody tell me what the hours of work are at Florida Hospital for full-time? I have a contract for full-time but it just says the hours are "not less than 36 per week". I'm from the UK and expect to be starting work there in about 6 months time.

Specializes in M/S, Onc, PCU, ER, ICU, Nsg Sup., Neuro.

For the most part it's 12 hour shifts, either 7A-7P or 7P-7A.

Specializes in Oncology/Haemetology/HIV.

For domestic travelers, they require us do 6 twelve hour shifts and an eight hour shift - during 2 weeks. One is supposed to do every other weekend. Shifts run from 0630AM to 1900PM, or 1830 PM to 0700 AM.

However, many will schedule 7 twelves, despite our contract and scheduled for extra weekends, thus I am not re-signing. And then the regular employees dislike us because they get low censused and we are required to do overtime.

You can tell that Florida is not a union state by the way management treats their employees, by imposing these requirements.

Which Florida hospital are you going to....there are several in the Central Florida system?
