Question on filling out BSN application

Published

I am kind of helping someone filling out an BSN application in CA, and having a question what to answer on the following question #10 Yes or No. What if someone had only one juvenile misdemeanor charge petty theft under $50 value? Also the case was completed sealed last year.

10. Have you ever been convicted any offenses/felony (must check one)? Yes No

"Convictions must be reported even if they have been adjudicated, dismissed, or expunged or if a diversion program has been

completed under the Penal Code or Article 5 of the Vehicle Code. Traffic violations involving driving under the influence, injury

to persons or providing false information must be reported. The definition of conviction includes a plea of nolo contendere (no

contest), as well as pleas or verdicts of guilty. All disciplinary action against an applicant's registered nurse, practical nurse,

vocational nurse, or other health care related license or certificate must be reported. Also, any fine infraction or traffic violation

over $300 must be reported" (BRN 2013).

10a. If yes, fully explain in the space provided below. You must include misdemeanor, felony, and traffic violations over $300.

Specializes in home health, developmental disabilities.

Include it. My friend had a decade old DUI but she still got in. She talked to the director of nursig about it and she sai to go ahead with the application

Totally agreed. Smart to be honest and not hiding anything now especially it was the only one (mistake) record.

I read the question, and wonder why you would NOT answer "yes"? The answer to the question is "Yes" and you then answer question 10a with the information it wants.

"Convictions must be reported even if they have been adjudicated, dismissed, or expunged or if a diversion program has been

completed under the Penal Code or Article 5 of the Vehicle Code."

Answer truthfully.
