Question for Canadians: Working for Nurse Next Door or other Home Care careers

Published

Hi there! I just graduated with my BSN, and while I wait for my dream job I'm considering working for a company like Nurse Next Door, but I'm really not sure what I would be doing! Is it mainly home care, or are there other aspects to the job? What has your experience been?

And speaking of home care, I never had a chance to gain experience in that field through school. What is a day-in-the-life of a home care nurse like?

Thank you!

I would also like to know others experiences with nurses next door or we care. I'm currently a BSN student and want a care aide job while in school.

What do you mean by " is it mainly home care"? If you are being hired as a nurse you would be doing nursing duties. PSWs do "home care", bathing, light housework etc.

We do insulin, Woundcare, trach care, Foley catheters, straight cath, to name a few of our duties
