I am/have applied to the Fall 2010 Nursing program at Bristol Community College. I am currently (Spring 2010) taking ENG11, BIO33, and PSY51, the 3 prereqs for the major. I am also taking HST12, one of the electives. What I would like to hear from all of you that have applied to the nursing program is how many of the courses that are prereqs or electives/etc have you completed before applying and how many you are currently taking?
I was told by the dean of admissions that i will have my application denied because the prereqs are not complete yet and that I need to go speak to him personally at the end of the semester when I have my grades so that he can review my application again.
Anyone else in the same boat??

Only 3 pre-reqs? Consider yourself lucky! Our school has 11 pre-reqs, and 7 of the 11 have to be done before you can even submit your application. And the other 4 must be completed before you can begin the program. Your situation sounds very reasonable and if he agreed to personally review your application after you finish the classes, I'd take that any day!

All of my courses will be completed this Spring 2010 EXCEPT for nursing courses.
Just got my acceptance letter today. Woohoo!
I applied last year and didn't get in. I only had BIO33, & PSY 51 completed.
Take as many courses as possible and get great grades and you'll have a good chance to get in next year.

Hi lwitford28,
The only classes I need to take are A&P I & II and Micro to have all of the competitive courses completed to apply. I'm hoping to take A&P II over the summer and Micro in the Fall.
I would love to be able to apply after this Spring semester but would still have A&P II and Micro not completely which technically aren't prereqs but would be good to be competitive.
Good luck to you! It seems promising that the Dean said he'd talk to you after the semester!
