So I took my NCLEX-RN today at 2PM. I went in nervous as all get out. It seemed as though every question alternated between SATA and "What is priority?" At about question 40, I really felt as though I had already failed. I was just so unsure on so many of them... I felt cheated. I know I am a competent nurse, but this exam didn't allow me to show my ability at all! My exam stopped at 75 and I was horrified. I left the testing center crying.
I had always told myself that I would never try the PVT, because there is SO much mixed information out there about whether or not it is accurate. But about an hour after my exam was completed, I got out my debit card and went ahead and re-registered. I didn't care about risking the cost, I just wanted to swallow my pride and register to take it again given my feelings of failure.
I selected the option of having taken the exam before and all of that, and entered all of my correct card information, but upon my submission, I was led back to my credit card info page with a notice at the top that said something like, "Our records indicate that you have yada yada yada..." I tried a couple more times in the hours afterward, and kept getting that same notice. Obviously I am going to purchase my Quick Results as soon as they are available, but this waiting game is just terrible. No part of me felt good about my exam. I have already begun to think about a new study plan. I feel so guilty that I could be letting down my family, friends, and husband.
Anyone out there have any advice for a recent tester awaiting their fate? I just wanna know I'm not alone in this dreadful "failure" feeling.

I'm so sorry! How long do u have to wait until u can get the quick results?
If it takes the full 48 hours, I should have my quick results Wednesday!

It's easy to feel crushed, especially feeling all that during the test! Don't bother yourself with the PV trick, it's just not reliable. You cannot know until Wed, focus on what you did well on. EVEN if you failed, the very worst is having to study and take it again. You might lose out on a job offer, but there are others out there! And if you are stressing out about that offer, trust me, you don't want one that's going to hold a test failure over your head. On the other hand, maybe you passed! It's torture waiting but you will be fine either way. Let us know how it turns out.

If you're feeling crushed at the end of the NCLEX, that's normal and anecdotal evidence that you truly found your knowledge limit that day. It doesn't mean you passed or failed, but IMHO if you feel you crushed the exam as opposed to it crushing you, you probably failed...
The fact that you got a couple of "good" PVT results is a bit encouraging but know that it's not 100% accurate until the exam has been scored the 2nd time and they won't tell you when that happens. They very easily could wait until the 48 hours are almost up to do the QR and score the exam the 2nd time then and you could then fail because the 2nd scoring indicated an exam fail.
Since you're in a QR state, wait for the QR to become available and know for sure if you passed or failed. Also keep an eye on your state's website to see if you have an issued license (assuming they have one). My license was issued well before the QR would have been available, if my state participated in it (it doesn't).

I read that Pearson changed their payment stuff a week or two ago, and that it's even less reliable than before! As akulahawk said, check your BON page. Mine posted about 24 hours after the test, a day before QR was available.

I feel the EXACT same way. I felt as if i wasn't able to show the NCLEX lady that I was a competent nurse either. My test shut off at 75 and as I walked to my car on yesterday, I just knew I failed. As soon as I got home about 1 hour later, I tried the PVT and I got the "good popup". A few hours later, I tried it again. Still the same thing. And I've tried it this morning, still the "good pop up". I have to wait to receive my quick results on Wednesday too. This is the worst feeling ever.
Good to know I am not alone! I didn't get much sleep last night, but I'm trying to remain distracted and calm. It's hard to think about the uncertainty of the result, but even if the worst happens, what can we do about it now? The test has been taken and now we just wait. I'm praying for all of us!
I saw that, too. I wonder if the quick results have ever been posted prior to the full 48 hours?
Thats what I was trying to figure out too! I definitely don't feel to confident about this.

I am right there with ya! I took it yesterday at 2:00 and it shut off after 75 questions...waiting *patiently* for QR!
