I am trying to find out what is taught in a CNA course at this facility (and CNA courses in general). Also, does this facility give training to receive the BLS certification. If they do not provide BLS certification I plan to get it anyways. Now I, from what I gathered talking to people and reading posts here, that starting pay hovers between $10-$12/hr. What type of work week do CNA's have (do they have to work five 8-hr shifts or three 12-hr shifts, etc.)?
I'm thinking working as a CNA while attending RN school part-time will be beneficial. I meet with an advisor at NSC about their BSN program. According to their transcript evaluation (I did apply) I have a substantial amount of general ed courses that they'll accept. It's possible that I can finish a BSN at NSC just as quickly as I could the ADN at CSN. If that is so then regardless of any opinions of either school I'd swing toward NSC because I want a BSN eventually anyways.
Your thoughts?
