I am setting policy for a new hospice. Those of you that work in hospice how much PTO does your hospice give you?

The hospice I work for is part of a larger health system, so we accumulate PTO every pay period based on years of service.

Years 0-1, we accumulate approx 3.5  hours of PTO per 2 week pay period.

Years 1-5, 4.5 hours per pay period.

It goes up again after 5, 10 and 15 years.

We are allowed to carry over unused PTO time from one year to the next.

Years 0-5, we get 8.62 hours per pay period.  It goes up after that, but I'm not sure of the rate.

We get 4 weeks of PTO per year. PTO is so important in this area of nursing where burnout is so prevalent. After my time off, I am able to cope and serve my pts and families so much better.

We start with 3 weeks a year, go up to 4 weeks at year 3, and get another couple days at year 5.
