They say that working as an RN in a Child/Adolescent Psych Facility could be a very challenging role (as with any type of Nursing), but I am curious, for those who have worked or are currently working in that kind of unit, what are your positive experiences? Thanks.

I work in residential care for children with psychiatric illnesses and love it. The kids are just that; kids with a tough life. anything we can do to make it better is so worth it. had a mother thank me last week for "giving her her daughter back. " made me cry. :sniff:

I also love it. My kids are incredible. Most have had miserable lives and they are only doing the best they can with what they know. Little things become big milestones and imo making them feel safe, cared about and respected is huge. Funny but I often feel they give me far more than I give them.
