Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing Certification with the ANCC

I am going crazy- paid the $, passed eligibility requirements for the Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing Certification with the ANCC.

Next step is to take the test.

I know there is some kind of book we can buy from them to study to prepare.

I have been trying all day, searching their site, cant find it.

Had emailed them, they responded that I should go to "shop ANCC" on their site.

Went there, dont see it.

Anyone take this exam, if so, would you be so kind as to to forward the link to their study guide/book?

Hi! I too am getting ready to take the PMHN certification test. The American Psychiatric Nursing Association website has this book listed on their website. I ordered it off of Amazon. Hope this helps and good luck! :)

I'm not sure of the specifics regarding the clinical practice hours, that may be based on an honor system with the potential for an audit, but you will log all of your CE's prior to paying the examination fee which is reviewed before receiving authorization to test. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the info! I just logged everything in and tehy are asking for payment now. How long did it take for you to get your ATT? I am hoping to take it in october. I don't know if it's realistic though.

Hey esipbisn...know this is way late from when you posted your question, so I am wondering if you have taken your exam yet? I got my ATT within just a few days via email then letter in mail. I need this certification for my work and as my last nursing elective for my BSN program. I plan to take test this week (end of Septermber). The studying part has been very challenging for me. I find it hard to read through these books. I have worked in psych for 11 years and I think that makes it harder to give the answers they actually want. Good luck to you.

IMO there is no way to prepare for this exam. I purchased the online practice tests. I passed first attempt.

I took test 11/13/17 and I had about 4 books specific for this test and none of them were very helpful. The test had alot of therapy questions and only a few about meds.
