Peer to peer interview

Hi everyone! I interviewed today for a 3-11 position on an inpatient paych floor at a local community hospital. They told me that they want me to come back next week for a peer to peer interview so thay staff that I would be working with can feel me out?

I have never had to do a peer to peer interview and do not have experience with inpatient psych.

Would you recommend researching the meds commonly used and deescalation techniques? What kind of questions might they ask me? I just want to be as prepared ad I can.

It's usually pretty friendly and not too technical. I wouldn't worry. Just present yourself as someone who works well with others. A cohesive staff is important in behavioral health.

Exactly what SourLemon said, that staff cohesiveness is important. The peer to peer interview will allow you to meet some of your soon-to-be coworkers. They want to make sure that you are an approachable, teachable team member. This patient population will attempt to staff split, and staff really needs to be able to depend on each other to back each other up. There is no room on these units for big egos, know-it-alls or those that only work independently. This is all my opinion, of course. But in my experience, coworkers can make the difference between an incident free shift, or...not.
