well... i applied to work at a correctional facility through an agency and somehow landed in the psychiatric inpatient unit.
i've been a med/surg rn that floats to the tele/dou unit from time to time for about 5 years. i'm afraid to say, i've forgotten everything/anything psychiatric related to nursing.
should i find another job? this wasn't by choice; they just needed RNs to fill the spots. i want to survive, and possibly thrive here. help!@ thanks in advance.

Go for it. It will all come back to you and you'll learn as you go. You may find it very interesting.

Also see if there is a psych-medical unit. That will give you both med-surg and psych.
