Hi all!

I am applying for a pysch position at a local private facility. I have no experience in psych. I have been an RN for over 12 years and have worked primarily in med/surg, community health (infectious disease), and occupational health. If I am hired, what do I ask regarding orientation? I'm sure I will need 6 weeks to learn the ropes. Is there anything else I need to ask, other length of orientation?

Thanks

Hi!

I don't know if you've started already, but I hope it's going well!

It's hard to tell you what to ask your facility as they will probably touch on a little bit of everything.. If there are specifics, don't hesitate to ask those who actually work on the floor and who are orienting you as the management part of psych orienation is often vague and more the 'ideal' situations rather than reality..

Let us know how its going!!

first of all woring in psychi ward, we have to know how to observe symptoms of psychosis and neurosis patient, and also effect and side effect of drugs...in advance , learn how to care an [color=#990000]integral whole from

psycho-bio-social view such as post-hospital care.. teaching patient's family how to handle how to care....
