Psychiatric Help as a Nurse

I'm a nursing student, and I just finished my psychiatric clinical rotation. It got me thinking, and I can't seem to find the answer. Here's my question:

Can a nurse be admitted into a psychiatric facility and still remain a nurse when they get out? And do you have to notify state board if you are institutionalized?

Thanks!

Yes. There is no real way, unless my admission, that an employer OR the board would know. Regardless, it would be illegal to make a judgement based on your medical history. Institutionalization is not a crime. Is this a specific question pertaining to Louisiana?

Best.

That's where I'm in nursing school and I plan on being licensed here as well when I get out.

I see -short answer is no, it shouldn't affect your pursuit of an RN.
