I have a question and I hope someone here can help me. I’m very interested in psych nursing, but a lot of the psych facilities where I live in Southern Mass don’t use EMR’s and don’t scan patient ID bands and medication labels during med administration. This makes me nervous because I’m so OCD about making a mistake. Does anyone know any good psych hospitals in Massachusetts that practice barcode scanning for med administration and use EMR’s instead of paper records? Thanks!

Psych units in "general"/regular hospitals should use EMRs. Salem hospital/north shore medical center in salem does, is hiring, and recently expanded their units.
I would think Carney and St Elizabeth's would have EMRs
Tufts Medical center has a psych unit
BWH Faulkner, MGH, BIDMC, McLean in Belmont
I am not sure about the Arbour facilities
I love on the North shore in MA

It might be problematic as some folks with severe symptoms may not tolerate wearing an ID band.
