Hello everyone,
I am currently looking into nursing schools in Florida, and I was hoping that someone could provide me with answers regarding the PSB-NAT test that is a requirement.
I currently live in California and have never heard of this test. Here, we only hear about the HESI and the TEAS. Does anyone know where I can take this test in California? I've tried googling it, but no answers came up. Seems like the only place that gives this test is FCCJ (which is the school I'm applying for).
I'm trying REALLY hard to not have to travel all the way to Florida just to take this test...
Thank you so much for your help. I'm new to this site and from the looks of things, everyone seems so helpful and supportive.

I do not know if they have the test in California..I am in NY, and I am having the same problem like you. I do not understand, why it is so hard for the school to inform out of state prospective students the information that is needed to fulfill their requirements. I am trying to apply for the August start date, but this is causing me some setbacks...I wish you all the best in your search for the NAT test..I will keep you posted, if I find out anything else.
Hi!!!
What school are you applying to??? =)
So what I did was I called PSB-NAT themselves. Actually, I sent them an email because there isn't a phone number that you can call directly. Their main form of contact is via email... which is really difficult sometimes because not the same person contacts you back. And you have to keep on your issue.
Anyways, after I contacted them, they provided me with a link to a form I can fill out so I can take this test off site. The tricky part is that you have to have permission from the nursing program to take it off site first. So I had to call the nursing department(s) that I am interested, inform them of my situation, let them know that I have contacted PSB-NAT, and asked them how they would like me to go about taking this test. For example, for the schools that I contacted, I was directed to the Dean because I will be needing their permission. When it's time for me take the test, PSB will have to contact that Dean to get verbal or email confirmation that it has been approved to take it off site. Or else PSB won't allow me to take it.
Also, once you fill out that form... everything needs to be done within 2 weeks. So don't plan on filling out that form unless you know you'll be taking the test within 2 weeks of filling it out. I hope everything works out for you! If I take it ahead of you... I'll make sure to post how the test goes on this thread...
Here is the link to the PSB website:

Here is the email for PSB:

Here is the link to that form I was taking about:

And here is the email I received from PSB which I also forwarded to the Dean of my prospective schools so that they know about my situation ahead of time:
Thank you for your interest in PSB tests. Before you proceed, please be aware that many schools do not choose to allow their program applicants to test at other locations and we cannot assist you without the school's active participation. If your request has already been denied by your school we will not be able to assist you.
We are happy to help you with this off site testing request. Please click on this link: http://www.psbtests.com/offsite/OffsiteRequest.aspx and fill out the form completely and correctly. This will provide us with the information we need in order to assist you.
Once we have this information we will be sending you another email, within two business days, requesting payment for the test and our services. The nonrefundable fee PSB charges for off site testing, if our procedures are followed, is $30.00 which can be paid by credit card. To make this payment you may need all of the following information: your name, your email address, your phone number, the credit card number, expiration date, name on the card (if not your name), the address of the card holder and the security code (usually three or four digits on the back of the card).
As taking this test requires a certain amount of commitment on your part, we expect the entire process to take no more than two weeks from the time we receive your application to the time you take the test.
If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] and we will respond by email as quickly as possible.
