Providence CA RN Residency Program - August 2025 Cohort

Published

Hello, just starting a forum for Providence RN Residency Program - August 2025 Cohort, I currently work at a Providence hospital and got the email saying that internal applications opened 5/30 and external opens 6/6. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you

I've only applied to St Joseph and Tarzana, I really hope I get into one of those hospitals, also I have a friend who can refer me too, do you think that will also help?

it can, if your friend knows any of the managers in the units hiring that can help, but it also doesn't help to try the referral link

Did anyone first apply when it opened at 5am? I thought I saw that Burbank was hiring for L&D, but now that unit isn't on the application.

Yes, I saw that L&D was listed but now it's not.

I wonder what happened. I hope that unit is still being considered for the New Grad Program!

Me too! Do you know how the process of unit selection works? Do you get invited to interview and then they assign you a unit if you're hired or do you pick your top choice(s) prior to interviewing?

Memorial Care has an opening for L&D

When they interview you they ask you your top 3 units

so I applied for RN Resident all positions. I'm open to all specialties but my cover letter and resume make me look better for ortho or med surg. Do you guys know how that works when applying for all positions?

When they interview you they ask what are your top 3 units you want to work at, then they score? you based on your answers and share their sheets with hiring managers of each unit you are interested in, I feel like if you are open to all units float pool/pathways is the way to go because they float to multiple units

Burbank is only hiring for med surg bariatric & oncology, telemetry neurology & cardiac.  This has been confirmed.

you get an invite to interview, you'll select you 3 top choices in the order of interest. During the interview, they are basically taking notes and scoring you. once the interview is done, they will all debrief. and go over scores/notes and choose where (unit) you most fit, based on yours and other candidates scores .
