I recently accepted a job on a progressive care unit, and I'm so excited! Can anyone tell me what will be different about the progressive care unit vs. the med/surg unit I previously worked on?

You will be getting exactly the same patients you see on a Med/Surg unit.  The only difference is the additional care you will provide the patients such as telemetry monitoring, chronic vents (on some, not all PCUs), BIPAPs and/or HiFlow delivery (on some not all PCUs), and some continuous and/or titratable gtts (again, depends on the unit).  Good luck! 🙂
