  1. US Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (USAGPAN) FY2025

Hello, I am possibly looking to apply this FY through LTHET (currently serving active duty critical care RN). Anyone else?
  2. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Hello! My name is Dustin and I thought it would be a good idea to create a topic for those who are applying for the FY2020 Army Nurse board! A little about me; I am prior service Army enlisted with four years on active duty as a 19D (Cavalry Scout) a...
  3. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Hello everyone. I started this thread over 2 years ago and wanted to provide an update to anyone who is still in the process, or to those reading this thread who are contemplating direct commissioning. Last week I finally was able to sign my contra...
  4. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

I am going active. I won’t know my unit until I get my orders. My medical waiver is causing a lot of delay in my process.
  5. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Just an update for everyone…. Still awaiting commissioning orders ?? Selected in the April board of 2020 for 66S and still sitting on my hands (there has been a lot of back and forth between my recruiters and the Office of the Surgeon General regardi...
  6. Army AMEDD DCC 2021

Ohh okay. No, I’ll be going in as 2LT.
  7. Army AMEDD DCC 2021

Ahh okay haha. I’ll try to see if I can get info on the 66S manager when/if the time comes.
  8. Army AMEDD DCC 2021

Not planning on calling unless I absolutely have to if I’m waiting forever, but how did you get the info? Did he email when he receives all your documents?
  9. Army AMEDD DCC 2021

Was the guy you contacted the Nurse Corps Branch Manager?
  10. Army AMEDD DCC 2021

I remember reading your comments on the FY19 posts haha! You waited forever on orders.
  11. Army AMEDD DCC 2021

Yeah I’m AD as well... I’ve actually heard the process is slower for Reserve applicants.
  12. Army AMEDD DCC 2021

Yeah, I’m prior enlisted so I know how long the Army usually takes by getting things done, but I didn’t think it would take this long! The only reason why I’m needing a second physical is because my recruiter messed up on a document for my first one ...
  13. Army AMEDD DCC 2021

I am a 66S as well (Selected Last April), Currently waiting to get another physical done before being able to get commissioning orders. I hope I will be able to get into the DCC class starting at the beginning of June.
  14. Denver Health Review

Hello, I am interviewing with the ED at Denver Health soon. Are there any nurses who have worked there and could give me an insight on how it is to work for that hospital? Thanks in advance!
  15. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Update: Got a call last week that I have to get another physical done... apparently my recruiter messed up on one page and forgot to add ONE word, which is causing me to go back and do another full physical. I was selected almost a year ago haha. Thi...
  16. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Sounds like we’re in the same boat! I was wait listed in April 2020 and was finally pulled off the list around June-July. Still waiting on Commissioning orders... I am more than likely going to miss the January DCC and will probably go to the one sta...
  17. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

No, you’re good LOL. That does bring up a good point to people reading this post in the future. If you’re turned down by one recruiter, definitely get a second opinion from a different one.
  18. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

That was just what I was told. A friend of mine tried to join as a 66H with ONLY oncology infusion experience and his CV was denied for not actually having med surge experience. Exactly why I said to just contact a recruiter.
  19. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

From my understanding, to Direct Commission the Army is not looking for experience in a nursing home setting. To be a med-surge nurse you must have at least 1-2 years experience on a med-surge floor.
  20. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Still no commissioning orders, but I did get a welcome letter and challenge coin from the Recruiting Battalion's Commander. That's something, no? haha
  21. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Still waiting to be commissioned LOL. This wait is the worst! I had to sign a letter of intent on September 1st saying that I am still wanting to accept a commission and that I am only waiting for my appointment orders to do so. Today is the new FY, ...
  22. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

An AMEDD recruiter would be the best to answer this question. From my understanding, the Army has a big board at the beginning of every FY which will usually complete the 66H (med surge) mission for the whole year. If that is true, you might be able ...
  23. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Thank you! Since you're further in the process than I am, what does "scroll release" mean exactly? I was told that my scroll was already approved awhile back when I was waiting for this waiver to clear, and now I have to wait for it's release? haha.
  24. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Found out yesterday that my medical waiver has been approved and everything is a go! Recruiter said now that everything has been approved, they’re just waiting for my packet to drop down in their system and for my scroll to be released so they can co...
  25. FY2020 Army Nurse Corps

Hey man, good people mess up sometimes. I had to get a moral waiver myself for an arrest back when I was 17 (I had to get the same waiver when I enlisted in 2011). Don’t give up! My goal is to serve again, but if I can’t, I want to at least try every...
