I paid pre-Reqs out of pocket at CC while working. Once in my ADN program, I got a low interest 12,000 dollar loan through PEO, they are a philanthropic women's education group. (Interest was like 1.5%). I also got a scholarship and worked until my t...

I graduated in December and passed the NCLEX in January. I was/am 43, and my oldest was 2 when I started my prerequisites. He is 8 now. The most important thing for me was having my husband and family on board 100% so I could focus on school. It is ...
I'll give the perspective of someone who's mom worked while commuting to school for her masters in nursing, it was fine. It was harder on my Mom and what she though she should be doing than my brother and I. We are very close. I returned to school to...
I took the NCLEX in January and primarily used UWorld. I liked it. The rationales were good, and comprehensive, plus there were a lot of delegation, prioritization, and SATA. I also used ATI, because that was what my school used. I did pass.

I worked 30 hours a week my first 3 semesters of an ADN program and have two kids (now 6 and 8). What got me through was my husband being 110% on board. I also was able to round up a couple of loans and a scholarship when I finally quit my last semes...

For prioritization, we were told ABCs, Maslow's heirarchy, change in LOC, acute before chronic, and chest pain were useful in figuring out priorities. And safety, always! I found UWorld helpful, it had a lot of SATA and prioritization questions.

I used UWorld to prep for the NCLEX and felt it was very helpful. They have good rationales, lots of SATA, delegation, and prioritization questions. I did the whole question bank, flagged those I felt I needed to review, and then went back over the ...
