Long story short I earned my BSN in Canada (UBC), passed the NCLEX in 2017, and have worked over a year as an RN in British Columbia. I have completed high acuity certification as well. Within the next year I am planning to move back to the US and want to continue working as an RN there (unfortunately I don't know which state yet... but will in a few months)
My situation is unusual because I don't need a visa/permit to return to the States, but I still need to have my education & license credentials approved. From what I understand, the steps would be:
Obtain a Credentials Evaluation Service Professional Report by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools
Apply for licensure in the state I'm going to (once I know this)
Then apply for an RN position
Can anyone confirm this, or has anyone else been through this process?
(Since I've taken the Canadian NCLEX it should transfer without me having to take another exam, right?)
