I belong to the 7th generation of my family to have been a US Marine, or FMF Corpsman; my father having retired as a Master Gunny. I went Corpsman & then FMF/SARC because he was FR in Vietnam & his "Doc" saved his life during Tet...allowing him to come home after his 2nd tour & be there when his son (me) was born. I became a Corpsman because I felt my whole life that I owed some future unborn child the chance to know his/her father, and the best way to do that was to find a platoon of Marines who needed a dedicated Corpsman. I got the chance to fulfill that obligation in 1991, and it is what I am most proud of in my entire life.
