They ask for your bank account information and transfer the funds to you. You then have to prove that you used it to pay your loans. That’s my understanding from the several APRNs I know who’ve gotten it, anyway. And they did ask for my bank account ...
I am a CNM/WHNP who provides buprenorphine at a FQHC; I have a DTI of 136%. I received a finalist notification for 75K a couple of weeks ago and a notification of award/service start date on Friday. The money has not been transferred into my accoun...

And every single alumn I have talked to has said it's a non-issue for them. Now, is YSN going to put me in touch with the disgruntled alumn? Is that alumn going to be involved with the school to mentor? Probably not. However there is a REALLY high ...

My above statement should read they have to have a certain number of BSN nurses working as RNs. Once you have an MSN the BSN kind of becomes moot if you want to work as an RN.
DoulaMe replied to Bruins_2012's topic in Post Graduate
i think not having a BSN hurts if you want to be a floor nurse, especially if you're trying to work at a hospital that's got or is trying to get magnet status (like Yale New Haven Hospital) because they have to hire a certain percentage of BSN nurses...

Our last semester at Yale in midwifery is also spent on integration. I didn't know if Vandy had changed their program. I thought the poster literally meant that you got through RN and specialty in two years. If you're talking the difference between D...

It was top five, I believe. They added a bunch of data categories and use stuff like average GRE score now whereas before, from what I remember (this was a year ago so I really encourage you to look it up because I could be remembering wrong) it was...

Let me just go through and list the questions so I don't miss anything. How did you feel about the GEPN year? I am currently in my GEPN year and I actually, for the most part, love it. There have been some organizational/scheduling issues that I ...

Also, I would really encourage all of you to take some time to research (if you haven't) how they come up with the rankings and the controversies surrounding them. I got a bit caught up in it last year and took a hard look at how they do their data....

Congrats, everyone! US News and World Report changed the way they did their data sets last year--that is why Yale went down. It wasn't some earthshaking change in the way YSN does their program. Last year I was in the happy position of picking be...

I don't know. I bet they could do it for GEPN year, but I don't know how they would handle the overlap with specialty years. All of us are out of Med/Surg clinicals and they have all those preceptors. It will be interesting to see what they come u...

There's an app called transloc that gives you all the shuttle locations in real time. I don't know exactly where you are staying but the shuttle runs pretty regularly. You can find the routes nearby you when you get here with the app. Also if you ema...

I think this is a hard question because all of the specialties and interviewers are so different. For me it was an extremely extremely informal and reassuring interview. I also am not on admissions so I have zero idea what they look for in applicatio...

I will second air b&b. Also if you have time the Yale art museum is ah-maze-ing and free. Hope to see some of y'all at the midwifery potluck or during the student panel.

Interview process is very seductive. Ha ha. They have it down to a science. If you are anything like me you will walk away from interview day feeling like you are going to die if you don't get in.

Elle, it's definitely finals week so let's all procrastinate here! My interview, honestly, was cake. I interviewed with the program director for my specialty. It was not interviewy at all. It was extremely conversational and informal. Like ha...

I applied to Yale, Columbia, and Vanderbilt and was accepted to all three (which shocked the heck out of me--I joke that I got the old lady vote.) My undergrad was a not super impressive state school and my prereqs were from community college. My G...

SoSo, they list tuition on their website. Take2, September is absolutely the worst month. You are in clinical seeing patients in your second or third week of school so there is a crash course in not being a complete moron that pretty much takes up...
