    Fold and Mold Dressing Packing

@Feral.Cat.Herder oh yeah definitely start on the POC because that takes the longest to grasp with the do's & don'ts lol, you need to work on pneumonic for all your AOC you will need it for your POC & Notes. To be honest with you, after reading my NSL, I set it aside and spent all my studying on POC, ASSESSMENTS & Notes. I didn't start with lab practice until 2wks consistently before I left for my wkend, because i know this is only half a day of my whole wkend and I need it to be fresh on my mind! I'd 6wks short notice to take my CPNE and it paid off with no repeats! So when I tell you that you can do it, I truly do mean it. Also try not to pay attention to any negative people that may have been unsuccessful on this test and/or scares you that's it's hard because this test is VERY DOABLE...

    Fold and Mold Dressing Packing

I'll try to and I know how you feel! I spent so much time on getting it right as well including the PICC & CATH, I even took my wound model to NY with me because it's the easiest to fly with but I ended up with a PiCC during my test lol, thank God I'd them all down packed! so I'm saying this to you, not to stay "stressed" over just the wound ok? But focus on the "time" to complete it and the "notes" that you will write after its done and also the next 2 days of POC which is THE MOST CRITICAL OF ALL...You already know lol! You've got this!

    Fold and Mold Dressing Packing

@Feral.Cat.Herder "Just so I have it straight in my head, I do all the folding and molding and fluffing in my hand BEFORE putting it in the wound, correct?" Yes. And when its placed in the wound you can then pull/adjust the gauze to cover the areas you want as much as possible without contamination. Let me know how it goes after you try it out. If I can insert a video of me doing it here I'll try to.

    Fold and Mold Dressing Packing

The fold & mold method is basically when you soak the gauze (while in the boat/sterile container) and then you pick one out, squeeze the sterile water out, open it up laid flat in your palm (but not completely to a single thin ply) , start by folding the corners in to form like a triangle or shape it like the wound itself (basically the shape of the wound you're looking at), then u mold it on the sides with no strings hanging, you then bunch it up loosely for placement in the center of the wound without disrupting the shape you just made. Without touching the wound/ edges open it up and adjust the gauze, then place your abd pad &tape. The parachute method is different from the above. I passed CPNE June 2nd 2019. Attached image is mine using the folding method on several attempts during my practice. I hope this helps. Good luck!

    Reproductive Health Exam

Thanks Pixie.RN. I plan on taking the EC practice exam as I've used it in the past but not on all of my exams though. You're absolutely right about the adequacy of study materials and everyone's background and even study plans. I think once I take the EC practice exam I will get the gist of what more I need to brush on. Thanks for your response.

    Reproductive Health Exam

I'm studying for reproductive health right now which will be last exam before and I need help from anyone that has either taken it recently or know of how I can best prep for this exam. This exam is not Med surg, so I'm kind of worried. I'm using SG101 like all of my previous exams and some NCLEX books as well. Do you guys think this is sufficient?

    Reproductive Health Exam

I know this post is over a year but I'm wondering how you did on your test? I'm studying for it right now and trying to get some study guidance. I'm using SG101 and some textbooks at the moment. Is there anything else you would suggest?

    Passed Reproductive Health last Friday!!!!

How was Repro for you? It's my last test and honestly don't know all to study for it or how! I'm using SG101 and textbooks right now. For your LS series...Sg101 is good but also use Med surg textbook and NCLEX books if you can. They helped me a whole lot! Good luck!
