  1. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I got a message advising to log in to the portal and it had changed to a participant login. I did not get any real notification regarding my first disbursement until it hit my bank account a couple of weeks ago.
  2. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I originally accepted in early August and it was early September before I had notification that I was actually awarded.
  3. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I got my first payment about a week and a half ago.
  4. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Thanks for the info! I had no idea you could apply these funds to future payments - figured it would not count since the money had to be "spent" during the 2 year award period.
  5. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I got a notification to login to the portal on 9/8 and it changed over to a participant rather than applicant. My countersignature was posted on 8/29. The documentation I could find said funds should be deposited by the end of September. 🤞
  6. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Click on the link to view your contract and then look at the document; the counter signature should be all the way at the bottom.
  7. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I'm also under final review. Just checked and I have a counter signature on my contract from 8/29, so hoping that is good news. Application hasn't updated yet though, still says "accepted award - under final review.”
  8. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I think it is just the salary reported by your employer. Mine was reported as my base salary before bonuses, etc. Just a reminder that this is the thread for the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program. There's another thread for the NHSC Progra...
  9. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Anyone know what the normal timeline is between being notified/accepting and actually having funds start disbursing?
  10. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I got a finalist award email tonight too! I accepted. This will be life changing, financially, with the payment pause ending in a couple of months. FNP, primary care DTI ~150% HPSA 17
  11. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I think so? It's my understanding that if you meet all the requirements they check your credit to verify all your loan balances?
  12. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

    Same here!
  13. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

I was wondering about the credit check; haven't seen anything come across any of my credit monitoring yet. Someone mentioned it's only via Experian and not Transunion or Equifax on the older forums, so also something to keep in mind.
  14. HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Following this thread because I applied as well; finished the app the next day after it opened, though I don't think that changes anything for preference/priority. I did apply as an RN probably 7 years ago (DTI was around 200% with same HPSA score) ...
  15. The concept is hilarious, but I would be so irritated if that dude sat down next to me. I think it makes for better sketch comedy than social experiment. But yeah, this thread reads like an awkward one-sided conversation. 😜
  16. I'd have gone to med school instead.

  18. I'm still laughing at this a few minutes later... What a horrible name for a bread factory (store?)!
  19. 9/5 What I learned this week.....

Horrible facial flushing and the worst stomach pain I've ever had in my entire life - I have to lie down because I can't stand up. I feel like I'm dying! The higher the alcohol content, the worse the pain, and it lasts 45 minutes or so.
  20. 9/5 What I learned this week.....

I have an alcohol intolerance too. It was a fun discovery during my first year of college. 😓
  21. 8/22 What I learned this week....

Between that and the "side pocket," I need eye AND brain bleach!
  22. An Atheist Nurse in King James Hospital

I'm still chuckling about the patient believing that God is on board with the no-dilaudid plan. That approach is genius.
  23. Nurses with pedometers - How far do you walk?

According to my Fitbit, I usually average 5000 steps before midnight and 4-5000 after, so my average is 9-10,000 steps per 12 hour shift.
  24. 8/22 What I learned this week....

This week I learned that panic attacks and starting school are not a winning combination. Deep breaths...
  25. Our units acuity is at an all time high.

We've had the same problem over the last few months. High census, high acuity, low staff. It's been a rough summer.
