    Nurse II Appeal

Has anyone ever appeal to the National level? I'm a nurse one Step 6 with four years of experience. I appealed it once and got everything except Research. Just looking for advice.

    Any Active Air Force Reservist?

I'm a Air Force Reservist and I got my ABUs from US Patriot Tactical | Tactical Boots, Uniforms & Gear for Active Duty Military & Law Enforcement mainly because I live 2 hours away from the base. They sew everything on for you so it comes ready to wear.
  5. You have to apply for an open position or go talk to home of the managers and maybe get your foot in that way. I've heard of managers opening a job for 24 hours for someone specific to apply.
  6. Thanks for the update! I start in November and I work nights in the SICU. Keeps us updated!

Thinking about AF nursing & have ?'s

The interview was very causal. Just nice slacks and flat shoes. We were able to launch a C-130 mission that day so your clothes will smell! That is mostly why

Thinking about AF nursing & have ?'s

I commissioned as a flight nurse. Active duty you need 2 years of experience. Civilian you only need 6 months of experience.

Thinking about AF nursing & have ?'s

Yep. I never even carried my phone with me...I just left it in my room and called my family at night...Unless you are the social officer and you can carry it and take "pictures"

Thinking about AF nursing & have ?'s

You definitely will be able to stay in touch with your family! I am a flight nurse for the USAFR. I started as a O-1. My fiancé is an Army Veteran so he totally understands how everything works and couldn't be more supportive.

Thinking about AF nursing & have ?'s

I went to COT in October 2016. It wasn't horrible. The first day you report there is a lot of yelling but at the end of each day (which is about 7pm) you go back to your room and have until 11pm to get to bed. Every night you will talk to your family and I was able to get most of my homework done during the lectures and I went to bed around 9pm. Wake up is around 430am. I would definitely try to get Social Officer or Logistics Officer - I never had to do a weekly Memo....

Flight Nursing in Air Force Reserves

It's definitely doable! Just have to maintain and keep track of everything! Yes you get paid when you fly! I work for the government so they are very flexible...you can always plan ahead since they have a tentative flight schedule also.

Flight Nursing in Air Force Reserves

So we have a lot more training than a lot of reservist and in order to keep our wings and stay current we have to maintain a certain amount of flying hours per 90 days. If you fly on UTA weekends (which is one weekend a month) it's hard to stay current because everyone else is trying to fly. Our squodron always fly on Wednesdays and mostly every weekend but other squodrons, they do that fly as often. We are able to because we own our own planes. Basically, how often you fly is all on you.

No. I've been on orders since January 2017 BUT by base is wright Patterson so I go home on the weekends even through training...
