I think you should just do it! just go take it and ace the heck out of it!!! really though it is very nerve wrecking! I would say study but honestly...I don't see how you would know what to study unless you know the whole entire study book for NCLEX-PN!!! Good luck to you!

I didn't study.....I took my predictor exam in December and the score I made said there was a 97% chance I would pass on the first try.......so anyways I hope its right! I tried the pearson vue thing and I put in all info and it said I was already scheduled to take exam and it couldn't process my request at this time........does that mean I passed? haha I am so nervous

    HCC Spring 2014 LVN Applicants

I was reading your posts. I am happy for you. Good luck....im sure you know its hard work. I started in Jan of this year (in GA) and today I took my exit exam and passed on the first try. I am so happy to know that I will graduate and be pinned on Thursday. It has been very hard work and there were days that I wanted to throw in the towel and thought the stress wasn't worth it. But now, I look back at this amazing journey and how I doubted I would ever be able to make it to this day....and here I am. I wish you the very best and no matter what you do, stay focused and never give up. I promise its worth it in the end.
  10. hello! I am currently the LPN program at GPTC. I like it....its very very hard though. If you are determined you will succeed. This is my last semester....i graduate in dec of this year and omg i cannot wait! Anyways....the pre reqs are listed on the website under practical nursing. I think it is comp1000, math1010 or 1101, psy1010 or 1101, eng1101, and anatomy and phys1010 or something like that. I I took everything online except a&p. I started in fall of 2009 and finished my pre reqs by fall 2010. I applied for the program and it took me 3 times to get in. in 2010 I had a low GPA of 2.9 then decided to retake courses to get A's in 2011 and then i brought my GPA up to a 3.4....i didnt get in on the second try....but gave it one more try 6 months later and FINALLY. what an ear full! So basically it all depends on how much stress you can take in one year of pre reqs....and giving up pretty much everything to make a GPA of 4.0 the first time around. really though it is very very hard. I never thought it was going to be like this lol! I do love it so much...it definitely comes with its ups and downs and constant stresses. I wake up everyday feeling like this program is trying to make me fail. No matter how hard I study its never enough. we started with 26 or 27 ppl in Jan of this year....now we are down to 11 or 12! But hard work pays off.....and im sticking to it. On the first week of school they actually sent in a counselor to tell us that we are going to be stressed like we wouldnt believe and that it often leads to divorce in married couples. They also told us if our relationships arent strong, and if we arent 150% sure this is what we really want...then we need to go home. I felt the need to tell you this because no one told me how serious it was. Oh and just to let you know...the teachers are great and the LPN program at this school actually teaches an RN curriculum...(so i was told) and they said they do it because they want us to be ahead of other LPNs and it makes it an easier transition to LPN to RN bridge. I am thankful for that!! Well anyways...feel free to contact me here anytime. If you have any other questions ill do my best to help you. Good luck to you!
  11. Well....did you get in? You just have to keep me posted!!!! Youre killing me!
  12. Oh its fine! I know life is crazy........I will pray for you! I was just thinking the other day about how hard I thought the TEAS test was.....and it was to me....but what youre in for is honestly way harder. and guess what....ATI will haunt you ...youre not done with ATI after the TEAS test. I HATE ATI...it makes me nervous and the critical thinking questions are so confusing.....they give you 4 correct answers but one is more correct then the others. So basically.....you have to know everything. I am doing OK....I made it through my first semester!!! WOOOOO HOOOOOO giurl....I was so scared. We lost so many ppl. We started w 26 or 27 and ere down to 11! We start back on May 20.....with OB...I am so excited! Oh and at the book store the OB book is $400!...needless to say I bought mine online for $24.99! (used.. but thats OK!) Well anyways.....I noticed that you said Clarkston campus.....have they added the PN program there too? I thought it was only offered at the Newton campus in Covington. I also heard spaces are soo limited this time around because the students that failed have one more time to get in...I think they are actually gauranteed placement. Try to score as high as possible on the TEAS. Please let me know how you did! Ill be waiting!!!

Nervous about TEAS and lack of certain knowledge

NEVER GIVE UP! Thats the best advice. Its so stressful. I love it but I honestly didnt know what I was getting myself into! I have my mixed emotions...I have days I feel like I wanna quit and I have days I feel so happy and thankful to be in. The TEAS test sucks to me...I hate anything ATI....and in PN school it seems we ar suffocated with them. Im not even done with the first semester and my books stack up almost waist high...and I am 5'7!!! ....for the TEAS test....make sure you study the ATI manual. Take your time....but watch the time. Also....when you get in.....just somke advice to you...I am a cosmetologist so I enjoy lots of makeup and Noticable hairclors....I had platinum blonde on top and dark reddish brown underneath and under my bangs....well....I was told before clinicals that I had to "tone it down" and that my hair and makeup wasnt allowed at Newton and that sick patients would find it offensive! So it was either quit or go dark brown. Everything must be natural looking. I want you to realize that its so hard. We started with 27 students and we are down to 13 now. Make sure you practice your skills evaluations because thats where we lost everyone. Oh and you will fid that a particular teacher has the hardest exams to understand, which makes it so hard to stay afloat. anything below a 70 means youre out of the program. Im trying so hard and I had the attitude that I was going to make all A's or nothing....but now my all A's idea is more like....having the mind set to just pass.! OMG its so hard! But I thank God everyday that I ws able to keep trying after 3 times! You just cant give up and you will be hanging on a prayer to keep you afloat until graduation! Keep in touch! Im sure Ill see you around!
  15. Hey! I was just wanting to let you know that its so much work!!!! OMG I under estimated everything. Could be that my first week was so stressful and kind of scary. But honestly I freakin love every minute of it except annoying cassmates...but that comes with every class I guess. Oh and be prepared to spend a bunch of money ....scrubs...stethoscope...blood pressure cuff. pen light...uniforms (almost $100 a piece) and shoes.....etc. they are picky about the shoes so dont buy any until they show or tell you whats aceptable. Well I am going to run...I have a 6 chapter test I have to study for (take it monday) Good luck to you!!!
