    Jeff State Remediation

Your welcome! The class meets once a week, 3 hours long and it lasts an entire semester. Whatever semester you fail that's what you are going to review on plus validating skills, dosage calculations, fluid & electrolytes and whatever subject you may be weak in she will help explain it so that you understand plus there's a project you have to do in the library that's required in order to complete the class and you will also take a final exam on everything discussed during class you must make a 75 to pass. She does give very helpful tips on test taking as well. It's helpful for the purpose of you need the class in order to get back in for the following semester.

The class size I was in was maybe about 15-18 people and our class went in the evening because I was part of the night/weekend program...the day program class during that time was larger if I remember correctly 20-30 people. You have to submit app right away for remediation and usually as long as its submitted on time you get in however if its pass deadline you do have to wait to remediate the next semester.

    Jeff State 2011 Fall Hopefuls!

U r so welcome....and yes we did purchase our own blood pressure cuff I got mine for $13 @ cvs it doesn't have to be an expensive one because it's mainly for your use to practice u will access to bp cuffs while in lab it's not a problem if u bring your own but I do suggest using the ones in lab because those are the ones u have to use for validations.

They will give u a book list @ orientation with all the books u will need for entire nursing program it breaks down what books u will need for each semester.

    Jeff State 2011 Fall Hopefuls!

I did not purchase the book bundle me personally I didn't have $700, I purchased my books separately from amazon/eBay and was able to save money because they are a lot cheaper and a lot of students in my class do the same. Nursing school is expensive so if there is anyway to save a few dollars to go towards other necessities I advise to definitely do so.

    Jeff State 2011 Fall Hopefuls!

Classes are generally on mon/wed...this semester classes have been on mon/tues and for the fall classes are on tue/thur. The calculations test isnt all that bad, the calculate w/confidence 5th edition is what we used as well and for the n/w program passing the calc test at 90% does not apply until 2nd semester before u start clinicals. U will still have calc tests 1st semester but it isn't pass/fail but u will want to make good grades because they r averaged into your grade. Study study study I can't stress how important it is to study because the tests are not like tests that u are used to taking the format is completely different and u have to understand the material. The teacher u will have for first semester is excellent she is wonderful and extremely helpful love her to pieces!! Once clinicals start u will really enjoy class they are fun and helps u learn and u put into practice what u r taught in class/lab.

    Jeff State 2011 Fall Hopefuls!

Congrats to all accepted this fall!! I'm 3rd semester n/w program Shelby and to those accepted to night program it isn't necessary to get vaccinations this early because clinicals will not start until 2nd semester u guys have plenty of time so dont stress and worry bout the shots so much however it is your choice. I promise all of the questions will be answered at orientation I was the exact same way lol. Any questions I will be more than happy to answer.
