    Current/past students...what is your schedule?

congrats! heres my schedule when i was in block 1: http://www.sunhealth.org/nurse/ type that address to your address bar because if yo click the link it wont show up...then: go to class schedule, then click block 1. it says fall 2008 but the schedule is still like that... as far as supplies go: get a pda...u dont have to but very useful during clinicals because we use a program called unbound nursing ...something like that...that has the medical dictionary, lab pocket guide, and so on. very useful. and also...get one of those ccart with wheels because at times, you will be carrying all your books. what else can i tell you? hmmm....read in advance, do all your work and youll be good to go.....good luck again!

    Current/past students...what is your schedule?

Hello... Heres a schedule from Mesa CC @ Boswell Nursing Program Block 2: Monday (Pharm Lab) 0800-1330 TUesday (Theory) 0900-1250 Then every other wednesday and thursday are my clinicals @ the hospital. not a bad schedule considering a lot of my classmates either has full time jobs, has kids, or both. I just have kids and no job at the time but it can be done either way.

    MCC First Semster's Classes

NUR 151 is not full time...i believe it is 3/4 time...i forgot how many credits but i know it is 3/4 time instead of full. part time job would probably be your best bet for block 1 although i know some students who have full time jobs...but of course, they know what the schedule is like at the boswell campus...and if you do decide to get full time, talk to your boss...im sure theyll be flexible enough to work with ya. and oh...about clinicals...over at boswell, we had 2 days worth of lecture, then the next two days clinicals.

    MCC First Semster's Classes

hi there! first of all, congrats for getting in! i know for some people it has been a long wait. anyway, i go to mesa community college-boswell. and i am in block 2. you will be entering with a new curriculum. my class were the guinea pigs...and what we thought of the new curriculum were ok. a little disorganized but after a semester, it was better. as far as what classes i was taking back in block 1, theres nursing theory, pharmacology, and clinicals. they use to register nursing theory and pharm separately but now all 3 are under nur 151. i dont know as far as scheduling goes over at the MCC main but im sure regardless of how many days you go to school, clinical hours will be the same. i hope i answered ur questions.

    What should I get?

A PDA would be very helpful. Download all your drug guides in it and it will be useful during clinicals compare to carrying all the books with you. It might be a little expensive but its worth every penny...

    Current wait time for MCCDNP...

UPDATE...... the current wait time now is 3 semesters (current applicants divided by total placement capacity for the semester)...thats including the new Banner Nurse Fellows Program being added to Estrella Mountain CC, Gateway CC, and Mesa CC...and also added is the Catholic Healthcare West partnering with Chandler-Gilbert CC. I am assuming they will start it next semester since those spots hasn't been filled yet, and of course, the special app process along with it.... I have attached the whiteboard site which shows the current capacity for each CC's..... https://hceweb.maricopa.edu/CFIDE/docs/hcies/placementWtBd.cfm

    Anyone excited?????

Hey amburgerz, congrats! i know its very nerve-wrecking right now for you but it will go away...we all know it will be worth it at the end:yeah: anyway, as far as why i got 4 pairs of uniforms is because i know for sure there is 3 or 4 days worth of class a t the school i am attending which is mesa-boswell. i don't do laundry that much so having an extra pair would be a life saver. and that 2 days of those 3 (or 4) dyas are clinicals and im pretty sure we had to wear our scrubs. And guess what? I am quitting my job too. Just the fact that I want to concentrate on nursing schoola nd do it once ya know? and luckily, my husband was supportive of it. i just feel kinda bad because he'll be the only one working but it'll pay off:nuke: what school are you attending?

Maricopa Community College District Nursing Program in AZ

Hopefully you can get in this coming spring 09. It gets a little competitive at that school because of the fact that some of the students are from boswell or del webb and i know majority of them are trying to get in also. but dont worry...you will get in when u least expect it:D
