UPDATE: 3 women are still at the hospital in ICU in critical condition. One also has a broken femur and will be going into surgery this AM. I was unaware that only two of the women were home and...

fusion86- If you feel you have complete and total motivation to do this, than go for it. Microbiology is a very, very tough course. My college does Anatomy and Physiology separately in two 4-credit...
Yikes. I am glad I don't want kids. Not because I don't like them or anything, I just don't want any of my own. BUT....if for some reason I did have a child, I would try and give them help to the...
Yeah, unfortunately I have a pretty bad thyroid problem (started when I was 15) I also had to have a surgery 2.5 yrs ago when I tore my ACL. Now that was not a cheap medical bill. Health insurance is...

Yup, I also made a mistake using professors names...oops! I tried dressing halfway decent for the first few classes in anatomy, then ditched that idea. It was super cold out and snowy when we were...

Haha, yeah I would not be too happy about that. But I'm 99% sure RIC doesn't do it. I know a bunch of people who were in Health Assessment last sem and they said they were
Good point. I wish my family would have helped me...at all....but after highschool that was it! Not even health insurance. I'm glad there are parents like you out

I know it's different everywhere, but at my school they mainly look at the grades in the required sciences. The overall GPA is important also, but the sciences (Anatomy, Phys, Chem I and II, etc...)...
Ok. This is my last post on this thread, and I can't believe I am responding to this but I could not help myself. My journey through school has been anything but "cake". I worked 40-50 hrs per week...
One more thing, fusion86--- we have been together for 7 years, not two. He has been supporting be financially for a little over 2 years. I am 23 and he is 24....and very happy
To clear this up, my fiance started supporting me long before we were engaged. Now that we are engaged and getting married in a month, YES it is certainly different. I agree with that. No, I am not...
Wow, I am offended. My boyfriend has been supporting me for the past 2 years and will continue to do so until I finish my clinicals. After he graduated with a BS in Engineering he figured he could...

You would have to check at the specific school that you're interested in. It varies greatly from state to state. My BSN program accepts students for fall and spring semesters, but again, that's in...

I know quite a few nurses, and I also know people in our program who have said this. I'm not sure of any nursing school that forces students to be in their birthday suit, but hey you never

Just to add my two cents... I took Dr. X for Anatomy @ CCRI. By far the BEST prof I have ever had in my college career. (Lots of extra credit and gives you tools to succeed) For Physio, I took Dr. X...

Chris- I actually appreciate you asking this, because I know this scares people! BUT relax, it's not true! When we get to our assessments, etc, students are NOT allowed to undress. When practicing...

Haha. No, a BSN program is not like medical school. It's like nursing school. I am in a BSN program and it will have taken me a total of 7 years to finish it......basically because of the time it...

I'm confused. What does your question have to do with nurses "eating their young"????? Anyway, I'm in RI.....not too far from you I suppose. Good grades are not a guaranteed "in" at any nursing...

Becoming an MD is difficult in itself, but OB is one of the toughest specialties. OB NURSING is completely different. Nurses do not go to medical school, we go to nursing school. Hence, the title...

Not true in my area. I know many nurses who have graduated and tried to get into NICU, ED, etc and could not do so until they had at minimum one year of medsurg experience. I didn't say it couldn't...
Test anxiety is tough. I have a slight case myself. I find that taking 3 really good cleansing breaths before the test is handed out helps!! Sounds funny, but try it!
