   CNMs can do everything WHNPs can do but WHNPs can't do everything that CNMs can do, so for me that answers the question! Why not do CNM and leave your options open?

   That is correct, we are out of the running. That means they did not even forward our info to the hiring department because they had many applicants that were more competitive. I'll be applying again for the Summer!

    I mean requires you to answer a specific question about the 100 hours as well. Is it not possible to edit posts in allnurses once you have posted them? Annoying.

    Thanks for that info @redivy. I wish I were an internal candidate there already! The timing is a little bit off. UCSD is buying Alvarado where I work per diem, but I'm not hired on by UCSD yet.

    Yeah, I figure at least 2 of those 4 NICU spots are going to people who had NICU externships at UCSD, but still maybe that leaves 2 spots for the rest of us? Same for the other competitive units, might as well try.

    @MeganCole21 why do you think they don't want applicants without 100 hours in the unit they are applying for? I know that would make an applicant more competitive but they didn't say it is required.

    Is it worth it to get an interim permit in CA? Or do you get your NCLEX results quickly anyway, so it's not really worth it?
