Feeling embarrassed, ask the md a stupid question

Doctors remembering the names of nurses is as rare as a Sushi place in Ginza selling hamburgers and fries.

    Reasons nurses get fired

I'd be privileged to have someone like you as my director. It seems most supervisors just forget when "they" were bedside nurses.

    Reasons nurses get fired

The main thing that gets us, nurses, from doing that is.. the place of employment giving the "dismissal" in the form of: resign or get terminated. (play the tune. you guys all know the tune, when that guy's movie used to be good) Doesn't look good on the resume if the termination is on file. Well, unless you are applying for a job in Nome, Alaska.

How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Oh my mistake. I thought that you were an American. I am an American, and my vote counts.

We need to overhaul health care plans. THAT I agree. Your system is the "force all to participate" attitude, where citizens do not have the option to get their own type of insurance or pay out of pocket. I don't have a plan for that though. I'm just a mere citizen that is a taxpayer and live by abiding to the rules and laws of this nation. Let the Politicians do their jobs for a change and actually do something instead of yapping their mouth on Cspan. It's just like Japan. They promise so many things and have the greatest idea to solve every single problem of the nation while they are campaigning.. and once they get elected..it's like, they are busy playing golf or taking foreign trips.

    Reasons nurses get fired

Expecting and asking the CNA who is the DON's pet to do their jobs (taking vitals, checking patients) is one sure way of getting dismissed from the unit.

    Should I take the job?

I suspect these thoughts will be coming into the minds of most people while they read your post. a) congratulations on your graduation. b) focus on your NCLEX first c) why not look at other options? Surely, you are tired of paying an average of $2K for a small room while living in Boston. You have other options..Worcester? Even Springfield Mass? Maine? The southern states? d) From your graduation to passing the NCLEX: that is the only time that you have to really do some planning (meaning, you have free time to do so). Also, you do have the "luxury" to move around since you're not bound by a workplace & coworkers that got used to you. e) did I mention: that there are plenty of states that are hungry and "begging" for nurses? Doesn't take much effort to just craigslist a room rental after securing a job..and getting your Hospital nursing thirst quenched.

Oh no. I'm not on drugs. I just love the part about Grumpy, going all berserk regarding the Electoral system. Doesn't take much conversation to bring out "your side's" true nature. "Constitution is for us when it suits us, but we are all for altering the Constitution when it doesn't suit our side." Must be nice. We (our side) can see your tax scheme from a mile away.

How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Oh. I didn't know there was a research conducted already! Wait. On paper-limited to paper? Implement it. Seriously? Is this what you call evidence based? Sample population/geography. Give them all free health care. Let's see if it'll work out. I'm guessing it'll be approx a year until residents will start moving out seeking "safe harbor." Just like Massachusetts, California, New Jersey, and New York.

How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Is anyone stopping or preventing you for paying for the health care of others? Oh that's right. You just want to force "all of us" to buy into your plan that will no doubt a) raise taxes b) raise health care costs c) prevent competition

    Constant interruptions

I think she (secretary) is not telling the whole truth. A secretary not allowed to ask who is calling? Yea. We're all in Preschool.

How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Nah. Nothing American to be hit with more taxes just because some person who never did anything in the real world, decided that I or others, are making "too much money."

lol. sounds like you're living in the wrong country.. not only that, against the Constitution.

How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

No Grumpy. Everyone doesn't pay. They never will. That is why it will not work (one of the main reasons).

How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

This is getting funny now. So the discussion (Medicare for all) has been started. Our side (the ones against Medicare for all plan) has given a proposal: do a research using our country--and see if it works or not. If IT works, trust me, I'll be one of the largest advocates of promoting universal health care for our nation. (the main criteria: do not increase taxes, do not increase health care costs, and have the availability of services) Your side (the ones for Medicare for all plan) has the approach of: Look at Europe but you're not allowed to look at Asia. Just implement it and it will work. My way or the highway. Just do it. Why even titrate? Just run Vancomycin for everything type of a mentality. Anyways, all this talk is just fantasy. Let our votes speak. That is action.
