ok my friends, I made some phone calls today because and I called three different people because I like data. The answers I got were: between mid March and early April, in the next 5-6 days, and the 2nd or 3rd week of March. So there you have it. Sometime this week or maybe not until April. 🤦♀️
Hey guys! I am a current ABSN student (will be graduating in July of this year). I'm sorry y'all haven't heard back yet. That is extremely late, but doesn't surprise me. This program is so chaotic and unorganized I can't even begin to put it into words. I am thankful to get my degree in such a short period of time, but I can't say it's been the most wonderful experience when it comes to the college and professors. I don't mean to scare you off, but I believe people should be well informed. The ABSN students seem to get the leftovers and traditional students always take precedence. There is so much confusion and ABSN students are talked down about due to our expecting and wanting better/more. There are a handful of amazing professors that will do everything in their power to help you succeed, but the others couldn't care less and have no idea how to teach.
The overall theme of the program and OUHSC in general is disorganized. It's frustrating, but if you can tough that out it is worth getting the degree in 14 months. That's the only pro haha.
I hope all of y'all get accepted to the program you want and become terrific nurses! Good luck everybody!
I had called the Tulsa campus with some questions. One of the women in the deparment ( I can't remember which now) told me that the meet and greet type thing would be mid February. She said "it won't help you make a decision as everyone will know by then, but at least you'll be able to get an idea of what's coming before the program starts". EEEEK.
Also, I looked in my inbox from the year I had applied previously (2015) and received an acceptance email on Nov 16th. So about a month after deadline.
You should plan on Monday-Friday 8-5, at least for OKC campus. The 8-5 bit varies slightly, but in general that's what you can expect. We've been told that in the final semester our schedule will vary according to the schedules of the nurses we follow for the leadership class, so we may have overnights or weekends at that point.
