    UT Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

So is there a max points or a minimum cutoff for admission?

    UT Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

I could use some advice. I've no clue what cutoff scores are getting into the program (online). I also want to know how much working at a partner hospital helps. Is it just GPA & TEAS based ranking?

    Lone Star Fall 2020

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know. I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb). Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

Is Adkins Academy a real program?

Notice how the OP as well as the two that had glowing reviews all have less than 5 posts? It sounds VERY suspect and red flags should be going up. I'd stay away from this test prep. A grand for TEAS? No way!

  6. Hi,

How is the schedule at Cy-Fair? How many days per week are you going? Do you feel this school is tougher than the other schools?  How many dropped off after the first semester?

Keep in mind anything I tell you is subject to change depending on them. The first semester was Monday was like 12-4 lecture. Tuesday was 9-11 lecture. Wednesday was 9-12 lab. Friday was 8-12. However there were two different schedules. But I was part of the “Friday group”. For second semester it was during the summer. Medsurg 1 8-12 Monday’s. Tuesday was clinicals, be prepared for 12 hrs). Wednesday mental health lecture from 9-12. Thursday sometimes clinicals. Friday we had mental health clinicals. Again, there are two different schedules for students. And honestly the school is harder. Cyfair is a 18 month program which means is fast paced. All tests are nclex style. And I think about 5 dropped after the first semester. Second semester lost about 18-20 people.

I hear that. And I'm not sure if it is because of the block curriculum but a few admins say they prefer Cy-Fair grads. I am told that North Harris and Kingwood are easier, but that doesn't equal better.

Yeah I’ve heard those are easier too. I heard one of those offered extra credit I couldn’t believe it lol it’s a whole different level of studying. Harder then HESI

Thank you for the positive energy. I am really praying for an A in Anatomy & Physiology 1. I face a ridiculous uphill battle. An unsupportive spouse, noisy, needy toddlers (2) and Trying to work at home to make an income because I can't get financial aid and my spouse is not helping. Don't feel bad because I think it will make me a better, more determined nursing student and future RN. Please keep me updated on Cy-Fair because I will be making that campus my #1 spot. The black scrubs help, lol.

    If I were a bettin' man I'd say you're in with a 7.52
  11. Really? Because I have had notations on my license since 2012 and am now just able to apply for a renewal/reinstatement. Since it's been so long I am just retaking the CNA course. Also, I found that HCA outcome on a ineligible list. I had applied for a position and during the application process HCA bought the hospital. So good ol' Parallon/HCA marked me as ineligible for rehire. There's other places to work but it just irritates me that they can just do whatever they want. I contacted the union then and they stopped responding to me and failed to represent me.
  12. What's so messed up is this: in a right-to-work state I can deal with HCA firing me but it's malicious to make me ineligible for rehire AND go after my license and affect my ability to earn a living using it (And yes, they did that to me. I'm just a CNA but reports to a board of nursing follow you to the next level).
  13. From experience, all HCA administrations are garbage (collectively). There may be a few decent ones but for the most part this is SOP for HCA.

I was going to apply for Spring but I have to delay it because of family medical reasons. I'll keep my score of 7.584 and apply for Fall 2020.

Are you applying for Sping 2020 or Fall 2020? For Fall it looks good because more campuses are taking applications. In the Spring, only Kingwood and Cy-Fair have programs taking applications. That makes it far more competitive. Not uncommon for accepted score cutoff to spike .10 points or higher then.
