Perioperative Nursing in Toronto vs Vancouver areas?

You won't need to get re-certified by BCIT. Prior related work experience is accepted for most OR positions here in Vancouver! You will probably have to get oriented to the site you work at (which is paid in-house training basically). As for living in Vancouver, affordable housing is nearly impossible to find, food is more expensive, and taxes are higher. You will pretty much be living paycheck to paycheck even on a nurse's salary.
  2. Hi! I am finishing up my final year of BSN (Vancouver, BC area). I have thought about it for awhile now, and I am really interested in travel nursing in the states. I am specializing in Emergency nursing currently, and have a job lined up in local ER, and orthopedic surgery. As much as I love Vancouver, I really need to move for many reasons. Housing market here is a total disaster, nursing opportunities here are not as diverse as the states, and I want to embark on an adventure! I would really appreciate some input as to what nursing is like in the states for Canadian Nurses! Sorry about the list of questions, I would really appreciate any and all input! -What was travel nursing experience like? How challenging was it to secure a position? -How did you get started with travel nursing (years of experience, specialty) -Where did you travel nurse, and how lucrative was it ($$)? Thank you so much for reading this post!

How did you get started on making the move on travel nursing? What was the process like registering in Maine? Did you find it was easy enough to find a job there? Thanks! I would appreciate if you shared your experience!
