Finding sponsored jobs

Hi! I'm a Swedish educated RN, BSN. I finally got my license in the state of NY back in September 2019. But as of now, I also have my Visa-screen issued and ready!.. So the only thing that's left is a job. Without signing these 2-3 year long contracts through agencies, does anyone have a tip in how to find a job in the US that sponsor my Green card?

Flying out to NYC for NCLEX

I did take the NCLEX and I'm now licensed in state of NY. Now I'm trying to endorse it to Pennsylvania which isn't the easiest without SSN and being out of the country to leave fingerprints etc...

Finger prints for license

I need to get a PA license. To get that I need to leave finger prints/ criminal background check. How do I go about to do this without being in America?
5. Hi! I have a few questions regarding my CES-report. So I did a CVS-report to get licensed in State of New York. It all went though and good, I got to sit the NCLEX exam, got my ATT - and last week I passed my NCLEX on my first try! Yay! So now I'm just waiting to get my license issued. However now to my concerns. I also ordered a CES-report from CGFNS. In my report the state that I lack clinical hours of Maternity and infant nursing - that I have 0 hours. However I've called and talked to my school about it, and they figured and realised that they just lumping hours together in another category. My CES-report is saying the thing that differs me from someone with American education is the lack of those hours. Now my concern is that even if I passed NCLEX and will be licensed in the state of New York I'll have a hard time to endorse my license to other states. Does anyone have experience of that? Can I contact CGFNS about this issue and try to update my CES report? Or is that just giving me trouble? Or Should I go through ERES with the correct information regarding the clinical hours to easier endorse my licensure to other states? What would you do in my situation?

Leave fingerprints NY-state

Hello, I'm a Swedish RN, BSN. I just took the NCLEX in NYC yesterday.. I don't know if I passed yet, I'll buy my quick result tomorrow.. However I do get the "good" pop-up on PVT. Although my question is... IF I pass, do I need to leave fingerprints somewhere or do anything else to make them issue my license? Don't wanna go back home to Sweden this Sunday and forget about something :x

Flying out to NYC for NCLEX

Thank you for motivating me! I saw the e-mail, thanks for the tip. I was in the low-range of passing. I will do the second assessment test this Tuesday when I get off work. My budget fits anything really, because I already invested so much time and money in this. But would you recommend the Saunders App for 40$ or should I buy two tests from NCSBN for 120$? Or get Kaplan as well? What should I study simultaneously with uWorld?

Flying out to NYC for NCLEX

I've been trying to look at my first assessment score, but I can't for the sake of god find it. I just have the general data of all my tests. I bought the uWorld and assessments before I had gotten my ATT. That's why I didn't take it too seriously. Now when I've scheduled my exam and trip I obviously take it seriously. This is why I'm turning to this forum to ask for advice regarding techniques and tips what scores to aim for etc. I've been doing 75 questions per day for 2-3 weeks upping my score with 10-15%, like you can read in my first post. I have no choice but to take it, otherwise my ATT is running out.

Flying out to NYC for NCLEX

Yeah I did! I did one assessment, however.. can't remember what result I got there, and didn't take it too serious lol. Ive got my second assessment left. When would be a good time to do that? I've considered buying NCSBN's own 2 question assessments. Does anyone recommend them? What score in %% on uWorld per test should I aim for?

Flying out to NYC for NCLEX

Hi. I'm a Swedish RN, BSN. 2 September I'm flying out to NYC to sit the NCLEX exam. I've been studying, quit a lot. Using Uworld, I've soon done the whole Q-bank. Usually I score 48-55%. I started out at 38-40% (lol). What can I do to improve my chances to pass? Anyone got any advice? Could u pass the NCLEX when scoring 48-55% on Uworld?
11. Finally! After 18 months of struggling with NYSED and CGFNS, I'm finally eligible to sit the NCLEX!! Now I do have a few questions going further. 1.) With a NY RN license, is that a state that will make it "easy" to endorse/transfer my licence to other states (excluding California, I know its a hard to get a license there). 2.) How do I go about studying for the NCLEX? I graduated my BSN program 1,5 year ago. 3.) When I receive my ATT-code so I can schedule my NCLEX, for how long is that code usable? like what's the time spectrum until I need to sit the NCLEX? 4.) What happens if I fail? 5.) When (if, lol) I pass the NCLEX does anyone have any recommendations moving forward with a recruiting company or so? Thanks you everyone :) !

RN BSN Sweden -> America

Does that mean they get my form I sign, then send my school etc that paper + other documents each institution needs to fill in also and send back?.. Maybe then I.. just should buy another service from CGFNS?.. maybe the New York one wasn't the best choice lol..

RN BSN Sweden -> America

That's correct, I have 187 credits, those 7 extra credits made me eligible to take out another bachelor! :) I'm just confused on what they want from my school. Is it enough with my diploma, course name and degree? Or do they want English description on each course and what the course included? Hmmm maybe I should have chosen another service than the New York one... We'll see.. I'll send them the last papers tomorrow. I tried to PM you Spider to maybe add you on FB or something, somehow I can't figure how to use the PM function on this site!

RN BSN Sweden -> America

Hey Spider! Inspiring reading about your process! Let me explain a little where I am in the/my process! I just graduated this January from school with my two bachelors! I am crreuntly working at northen largest ER to get my acute care experience! I've started my application to the state of New York! I chose NY because it's where I want to work mostly but also because they don't require a social security number for their application. My thought about starting the paperwork this early is that I could sit for NCLEX asap and then when I have my full year of acute care I can start apply to jobs. However, I've started my application at CGFNS and I'm doing their credential service for New York, that is a specific one. Ive done two of the obligated courses (child abuse, infection control) for the state of New York and I've sent my RN application to them. Ive sent the CGFNS forms to my school and to our licensure department in Sweden. Im also sending forms (my secondary high school grades, my birthcerificate, passport etc) and a notarized application to CGFNS. Then I just have to wait for my school and the department to work. My school have said that they will send their documents next week! After I'm approved and get my ATT and passed NCLEX my plan is to get in touch with a agency who can help me get recruited. I don't know if this is the right way to go, hopefully it is. I also find it hard what exactly they want from my school - just my bachelors and all the course names and earned degrees? Or the full explanation on what the school course included etc? And since I can't find anyone that has done the New York credential it is hard to find and answer, but hopefully I get this right!

RN BSN Sweden -> America

Hey. I'm finally done with my studies at one of the worlds leading nursing universities in Sweden. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Degree of Bachelor of Medical Science with a Major in Nursing. I'm currently working at northern Europes largest ER. I've started my application to be registered in the state of NY (since you don't need a SSN). I'm just looking for someone who has done this process and/or might know about the immigration possibilities being a RN with my degrees? :)
