    Great surgeon story

I hope that my next job is one that I could say "I love my job".

    HOLE IN MY GLOVE!!!

    Haha oh no thanks!

What color scrubs do you wear?

We wear royal blue scrubs. The only person who wears something different is the ENS who wore black scrub pants.

    changing careers

I went from working retail for 9 years to RN. If would be a great idea to be a tech in a acute hospital in my opinion before getting a job as an RN. Plus most hospitals pay like $2-3 more for someone with that experience.
  5. I just passed a few months ago and I only did HURST online to pass in 75 questions. Its a great review and I feel it really dumbed it down for me in areas I needed it to.

Male nursing student and female patient

Thats exactly what I thought. I saw that in nursing school during my OB rotation

    Fresh nurse from school

I just recently graduated and was offered a position as a nurse intern in a lvl 1 trauma ER. I did not get offered a job post internship. So my advice is don't start in the ER unless you want a bigger chance of not having a job after the internship is done. I'm the only one who didn't have experience beforehand and the only one not offered a job.

Have you ever been mistaken for a doctor?

I've even been confused for a doctor back when I was in nursing school. I just prescribe them some haldol and have the nurse discharge them.

How do people feel about male nurses?

I worked in the ER and about half the people there were guys.

    No job post ER internship

July 13th-Sept 19th. About half of that being in a classroom setting

    No job post ER internship

I honestly do not know what to say when I get the question "Well why do you think they did not offer you the job?" Because basically everything can be looked at negatively that I have thought of. I honestly believe it was because I just wasn't quick enough in the end. Maybe I could word it like.. I learned so much in my short time in the ER internship but with not having any previous medical experience and the hospital being a level 1 trauma center, I just wasn't ready in the approx 20 days I had on the floor.

    No job post ER internship

Ok thank you for the tip! I will go ahead and include it. I just hope it doesn't take me forever to find another internship. I'm wondering if I should try home health or a nursing home.

    No job post ER internship

So my question is.. Do I tell my next employer about my internship or not? This is a summary of what happened... I was hired at a level 1 trauma hospital in the emergency department with no prior medical experience and just got my RN license in May. As of yesterday 9/20/17, I was let go and told I would not be offered a position (in the internship you're not yet an employee of the hospital and get a stipend pay and no benefits). My manager basically told me that I just wasn't keeping up with the other interns and he assumed I wouldn't be ready to fly solo in 3 more weeks so he quit on me. I was switched preceptors 3 times because they were short staffed and the other interns had been in that hospital before as a paramedic or tech. Yeah, I feel disappointed in myself but my biggest concern is my question stated above because I need to start applying again.

    No job offer post internship

In most cases, people get hired on after the internship. I'm afraid they won't want me because the ER didn't want me for some reason. "Why would we want you if they didn't want you for whatever reason"
