I agree that the dates were later. They’ve started credit checks as least for continuation awards, because I have gotten one. I’m just not sure if they have started for new awards.

Hey guys! Just happened to see this. I was awarded last year. I'm faculty. My DTI ratio was ~140 or 150% (can't remember). The debt only includes student loans specific to your nursing degree. Other student loans are disqualified which can lower your ratio. It does not matter if the loans are private or federal. The income is solely your base income the employer reports. It doesn't include shift diffs, bonuses, etc. HRSA does not have a problem with consolidation as long as there is a method to differentiate other loans from your nursing loans. Last year had a credit check in May, heard I was a finalist in late July, got a counter signature in mid to late August, and first deposit in September. Good luck everyone! This award has certainly been a blessing í ½í¸Š

It depends on which HRSA loan repayment you applied for. One is 60% pretax for 2 years of service with monthly payments and the other is lump sum of 50k for 2 years of service but that one is tax free.

Yes. I've received a monthly payment. A couple of people have posted about receiving it. In the Welcome Packet I think it says up to 30 days before the first payment. I got it in about 2 weeks.

Yes. Quite a few of individuals have been awarded in this forum.

You just wait for a deposit. In the packet, I think it says 30-45 days but it comes sooner. I got mine 2 weeks after the Welcome Packet.

pbflash42 - I don't know you but I was extremely happy to see you awarded. I stalked prior threads (as most of us probably have) and saw you were not awarded but to see you stick with it and try again to only get it was incredible. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!

No. I don't think everyone is especially those of us who are nursing faculty. The budget this year has already been set. The budget from my understanding is always set the prior year. I can definitely see how this relates to future funding because the new proposed budget does indicate cuts to HRSA. They've definitely been slow this year but it has picked up quite bit (esp. at the end of August). I certainly hope your clinic isn't closed and you're awarded.

I'm not sure I understand how this relates to loan repayment. Why would patients sending letters to HRSA determine nursing loan repayment? HRSA funds tons of other programs. Maybe your company is referring to one of the other programs.

How you're saying it is very confusing. I've already received my welcome letter and award worksheet. The initial loan amount is 60%. They take out ~20% in taxes; however, it may be a little bit more pending your debt because it's based on tax brackets but most receive ~40% of loan repayment.

I'm not sure exactly what you want to know. It's considered part of your income so they take federal taxes out. It shows you the qualifying loans/amount, the amount of you received if 60% was taken, and then the amount of taxes taken out. Once taxes are taken out, it's ~40%.

It's only one signature by the OFAM approver and it's found directly below your electronic signature. I received a signature on 8/30 and didn't get my Welcome Letter until today. Congratulations to everyone who received the award thus far. It's a blessing! To those who have not heard anything back, then I pray that your email comes soon. We are all extremely deserving for the work we do.
