Charity School of Nursing Spring 2018

Re:completing A&P 2 - the letter actually explicitly says "Students entering the 2018 Spring class must have completed A&P II (lecture and lab) and Intro to Psychology before Spring 2018." Which no advisor ever told me. I just happened to take those three classes this semester. If I hadn't just HAPPENED to take those classes, I would be screwed - since nursing classes start next semester.

Ok guys, last year this was the day they got their emails. I hope it works that way for us! If not: a week left!

Oh for sure. It's definitely a mass email. I'm just saying it's one mass email sent out to TWO groups (people accepted/people denied) vs. one email to a group of all applicants. Otherwise, they created a bunch of work for themselves because they'll have to separate out the addresses out into accepted/denied people in just a few days anyway. They may wait to send the official email until the packets have been put in the mail or something. I could be wrong! I have been wrong before

Yeah, I got that email as well, but I have a sort of conspiracy theory about it. Based on the fact that they sent that email, I think they've already made their decisions. Think about it: how much of a pain would it be to enter in each of those email addresses individually in one email only to have to separate them out AGAIN for acceptance/denial emails? I think they have already created two listservs, one for acceptance and one for denial, and sent the email out to both lists.

I am pretty sure it's one or the other. 10 pts for English/Math/A&Ps, 15 pts for Micro/Psych/English/Math/A&Ps, etc.

I just took the HESI today to finish up my CSN application for Spring 2018 - and it went really well! I basically had to speed to the testing center from the CBD because I was at work most of the day. I got a 95%: 92 in bio, 100 in A&P, 96 in math, 96 in vocab, and 94 in reading comprehension and 94 in grammar. THAT BEING SAID, if you want to get your HESI grade up, I would definitely get this book to prepare. The material in the book is largely what's on the test. I honestly was so scared of bio (I hadn't taken a real bio class in YEARS - I took BIO 251/253 over the summer), but the little short chapter in that book on bio helped SO much. Does anyone know where we have to bring all of our application materials once the dates roll around?
  11. Hi, I went to the CNS Open House today and am interested in pursuing nursing as my second career. I got a BA in a completely unrelated field about a decade ago from another college and work a 9-5 job in that field. Here's the issue: I am trying to work for as long as possible before fully enrolling in CNS because I have a child and we're trying to get by with as little financial hardship as possible. This includes taking my A&P lectures/labs, psych, math, etc. at night or online until I enroll in CSN. I am also trying to knock out the classes I will need in order to meet all the pre-reqs for the BSN bridge program once I am done, like chemistry and stats. Has anyone else taken this path? Is it even possible, or would you recommend taking it more slowly or just giving up trying to work full-time through the non-nursing classes? Thank you for any advice.
