problems finding lvn/lpn student loans in California!

Published

I've decided to go to private school for LVN/LPN program for 11 months but I have been looking for a loan to help cover some of the costs (since its $20,000 and the school doesn't accept federal financial aid), so I tried Sallie Mae and Wells Fargo and they don't work with my school for private schools, and B of A doesn't do loans anymore. I also tried the WIA grant but don't qualify for that because I quit my job to back to school and my school is not approved for grant.

So I have no idea of where to look next since my program starts in June :uhoh3:... Has anyone else had this problem? if so where did were you able to get a loan? or if anyone else know where I can can get more information about private loan would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard that Chase and Citibank are good banks for obtaining student loans. My friend obtained a $16,000 private student loan through Chase back in 2009.

ok thank you I'll look into it.

Why not try and find a school that offers financial aid? There are tons of private schools out there that are Title IV funded. Banks are so hard to get a personal loan from because of the economy and are actually cracking down (my mom is the president of the Northern California division of Citibank) on loaning out money. You really need excellent credit to get a loan from a bank these days, and sometimes that is not even enough.

You might also want to try Discover Card Student Loans. I got a loan from them when I was at a jc to help offset my living expenses.

I attend Gurnick Academy and they offer financial aid along with Sallie Mae for loans and have pell grants...

www.gurnick.edu is the website to check them out.
