Hello, everybody -
Has anyone ever worked with PRN staff who do deliveries, not just post-partum? A hospital in my area is looking for a PRN RN who can do all of LDRP. I would be concerned that, being PRN instead of F/T or P/T, I wouldn't be doing enough L&D to be safe.
Thanks!

try the BIGGER hospitals where it's more likely that Mother/Baby and L and D are separate and distinct units. But be careful; most want everyone cross-trained anyway. I do PRN but I do LDRP and GYN. I am glad to be able to do it all. Makes me flexible and marketable.
Thanks! That helps!

I also do L&D on a PRN basis. I worked pointage for yrs and am used to the LDRP model, so we do it all. I feel like I could do L&D in my sleep after all the yrs I did it full time! I love being PRN staff...what flexibility! :)
