Hi
I am working in Home Health, but I only have one case no more in sight it appears. I am content with this case and I want to stay. It is weekend position, and agency so if I do not feel like working every week I just don't signup. However, I need more work, so I've been looking around for more agency HH, or another job in the community environment.
I found a opportunity to work PRN in a school for challenged children with a broad background of behavior disorders the pay is good $30hr for PRN or a M-F 3-11p it is much lower pay if you work full time or Part-time and I really don't know how much. I am looking for something to give me more funds. Home Health is the lowest paying job it only pays $18hr, but I like it.
Background:
Before I went in nursing I was a Psychology major finishing 2 years and 1/2 completing all my core courses, but instead of going on 1 1/2 left to graduating I decided to put it on hold and try LPN school, then I went to RN. I did work during this time in behavioral health group homes for over a year. After that I did 3 years Medical surgical and cardiac telemetry. Home Health has given me exposure to ventilators and trachs, which we did not have on our MS unit. I think I have broad sense of nursing and I would not mind working in behavioral health again.
I just need to pickup more work and I really don't want to go back to LTC, or the hospital. I quiet enjoy working outside those environments in the community.
Has anyone ever worked in a school for these types of children? If so some pointers perhaps.

I'm not sure what pointers you are looking for... however I'd be glad to answer any questions you had of me.
