anyone go to a private school??
do private school students get treated better??
At my community college we were treated with disrespect from instructors.
and when I was at a private university in their nursing program we were treated with so much respect from the instructors- they really cared about us.

Private aschools arem usually more receptive because of the money that is spent per credit on courses. I am happy the day
I decided to attend private school. We are treated with utmost respect and the teachers take time to show us how things work.

I went to an NLN accredited ADN program at a public technical college and received excellent instruction and was treated with utmost respect. Passed boards the first time too.

i went to um and had a wonderful experience. now, mind you, when i pay sallie mae every month it hurts. but, i guess, all in all, i could not be here had i not gone there. yes, it is costly. yes you are going to school with a different kind of student but, i also had alot of international students and scholarship students and all other kinds. yes, our faculty was great but remember, nothing is perfect and you are bound to find professors that you do not like and who do not like you, for whatever reason. if you are able to visit the campus, do that. get a feel for the enviornment and talk with the faculty and students. each school has a culture and enviornment all its own. find the one that fits you the best and whether it is bcc or um, go there, or try.

I guess it depends, everyone has their own perspective.
I just graduated from Barry and overall I would recommend their nursing program to anyone interested in entering nursing. It definitely was no cake walk but i felt the teachers were receptive and available to us. But then again, our class started with around 150 and only 40 something graduated on time(but keep in mind some students had to do the 3 yr program for not keeping a 3.0 nursing gpa the first year, so it's not like they failed).
There are definitely some instructors I'm glad I will never have to see again in my life. Although faculty try to help, really and truly they stick together. I can recall two professors that students dang neared petitioned against due to their lack of teaching skills, but to no avail.During clinicals we often saw Nova students and they loved their program.I befriended one of them and she described their program as one that really wants their students to succeed. As far as in comparison to public nursing schools i cant really say, since i have no experience to draw from.
I know NOVA and they are really great. Nova students are very happy there.
I was just wondering if all the private schools were like NOVA- very helpful, respectful, good updated student nursing lab, great instructors (and the not so great are fired).... etc.
I was at nova for one semester and they were really wonderful to me. I don't know what happened to me that I failed the advanced A&P at the school.... otherwise, I would of loved to have completed my schooling there.
I figured all private schools were the same since you are paying an arm & a leg to go to the school!!
you got very lucky!
I went to public NLN accredited ASN program at a community college, and honest, there you just had to keep your mouth shut, do whatever you need to do- and if you see your peer getting treated without any respect you just had to be like the three monkeys - shut your eyes, mouth, and cover your ears- because there was nothing we could do.
There were plenty of tears shed for some of us who went thru the program-- some things that happened were very unfair to some of us.
For example, I missed one day of clinicals because I was had a baby (long story)- and instead of letting me make up the day the following semester- I had to sit out an entire semester and graduate in august instead of may- which I had worked so hard to stay on track--- and they knew that I wanted to graduate in may so bad--- and when I made up my day of clinical the people in clinicals were looking at me like "why didn't you fight it?"........... umm I did, I tried so much!!
But thank Goodness:bow: that is all in the past, and now I am an RN happilly working:nurse::nurse:
