Pillows vs. wedges... We are having a dilemma at our hospital in finding the best device to reposition patients on our low air-loss beds. Less is best to maintain the beds ability to reduce moisture. Has anyone used wedges instead of pillows to prop patients off of their backs? Pillows work for lighter/littler people but most of our patients are not low on the BMI scale. We are trying not to use the TAPs system by Sage because it limits the low air loss feature of some of our beds. Reaching out for alternatives that will be easy for nursing staff yet most beneficial for repositioning.

Thanks!

check with your supplier, there is a bariatric wedge. I think skil-care makes one. I have several in my facility.
