Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

I'm not sure what they've been doing and there sure aren't any results of them "working on it".
You aren't sure what they've been doing but at the same time you're certain there aren't any results?
"Billionaire Bill Ackman, a longtime Democratic Party donor, put a spotlight on a recent video of former President Obama appearing to guide Biden off the stage at a recent campaign donor event.
"Some people are old at 81 and others are sharp, vigorous, and impressive. Compare Warren Buffett at 93 and Biden at 81. Biden is an old 81 who can't find his way off a stage or stay present and focused at a G7 conference. Is that who should be the leader of the free world for the next five years? A president should not have to be led off stage by hand or with an arm wrapped around him. That is the not the image of strength and leadership we need as a country," Ackman posted to X on Sunday.
"Look at what is going on in the world. The perception of weak leadership in the United States has led to global chaos. The reality of weak leadership is a long-term serious and continued threat to our country. The Democratic Party is destroying itself by advancing Biden for a second term," Ackman continued. "This is the Emperor's New Clothes in real life. But it is not a children's book or a joke. The world is at great risk, and a Biden second term is a grave threat to global security and prosperity."

Fair enough maybe "barely a blip" was poor wording. I'll let it go. It seems to me that Republicans were for more focused on the economy and stopping the Obama stimulus package and Obamacare. I really don't remember the rise of the Tea Party having much concern over the border but maybe the did and I wasn't paying attention. The deficit suddenly became problem #1 for them. Not so much now.
But yes the border has been a decades old concern. I've heard "they're letting Mexicans come in and take our jobs" all my life.

Same news different day. But Fox surely has to pound that into people's consciousness as they campaign for Trump. But it's not just Fox, the news is full of it, as the campaign debate nears his mental fitness seems to be big news these days.

The mental and emotional fitness of both old men will be on full display for the country to observe and consider. I can't wait.

I cringe at the thought of the debate. Trump will be his usual grade school lying *** self and Biden will throw out gaffes and look like and old fool.
I was looking at some history of Camp David. While it is a retreat it's often a place to work and hold meetings, and allow more staff than a private residence.. Jimmy Carter apparently favored closing it to same money but liked it so much after visiting he kept it going.
Apparently Trump visited only 15 times. Biden has been 34 times. The leader apparently would be G.W. Bush with 150 visits during two terms.
Vacations has been a point of contention for Presidents, especially since the internet.
QuoteThere are two swimming pools at Camp David. One is a figure-eight shaped pool located at the Aspen Lodge; the other one is a lap pool located on the far side of camp in the staff area near the gym.
QuoteDonald Trump: In May 2019 Trump was criticized for various expenses; such as, golf trips having cost taxpayers at least $102 million in extra travel and security expenses, trips to Florida having cost $81 million, his trips to New Jersey costing $17 million, his 2018 two days in Scotland costing at least $3 million, and $1 million for a trip to his resort in Los Angeles. During most of his presidency, he used the concept of "working-vacations" to justify most of his trips, especially after making remarks such as "I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off."
President Joe Biden: After 21 months into his term, President Biden is reported to have spent over 25-40 percent of his time away from Washington, being either at his house in Wilmington, Delaware or at his Rehoboth Beach property, totaling all or part of 174 days as of Sunday, October 16, 2022.

I often cringe when listning to Trump. I often feel sad when observing and listning to Biden.
I'm sure there will be many differing opinions. I hope the moderators don't debate Trump for Biden again.

I'm not in favor of moderators getting into the debate either, but I do wonder what on earth is the best way to handle Trump's blatant dishonesty?
Exaggeration, a little twisting of facts here and there has always been part of the political stream, but the nature of Trump's dishonesty is beyond anything we've seen before
Before anyone says "but Biden..."
Biden's dishonesty is much less frequent, and generally inconsequential - embellishments, misstatements, or personal anecdotes and inaccuracies about his personal life and political record.
Trump's falsehoods are high frequency** and involve false claims about policy issues (pandemic, election fraud) and about other people when he makes personal attacks. They are highly consequential - his election fraud lies have led to widespread skepticism about the integrity of our electoral system. He lies about other public institutions, including the news media, and when fact-checked, doubles down on his lies and calls it all fake news. He is destroying our country by tearing down our institutional safeguards.
**Tens of thousands a false and misleading statements throughout his 4 years per Washington Post.

not to mention name calling, interrupting and disregard for moderation. It probably appears that moderators are favoring the other person in the debate but compare and contrast the two. Shouldn't the moderator moderate?
