President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

Hopefully this will ease some of the inflationary pressures but I think it's going to persist for a while.

Biden has destroyed Christmas, because Christmas isn't about Jesus Christ, it's about pagan Christmas trees and toys.

The criticism is from today. I do remember months ago it was thought there would be shortages of toys.  But I really haven't heard much from my friends with children that there are any issues and can't find any recent articles, other than from a few months ago that there "might be problems" and that retailers were concerned.  Did those concerns play out in a big way?  Or is this just rhetoric?

I will say my big concern is inflation and Christas being ruined.  I hate to admit but I am a high end foodie.  I like shitake mushrooms and purple sweet potatoes and organic foods and really am going over budget.  This month in 3 weeks I spent my budget for the month.  I am going to have to change what I buy and hopefully my ramen noodle days are over.  I want to eat healthy.

Edited.  I changed the way I Googled and found this from this week.

I meant to say that inflation and NOT Christmas being ruined.

At least they filed the Trump War Room tweet under "entertainment".  I do wonder if Twitter is considering rescinding the Donald Trump permanent ban since upon reviewing that War Room account I observed they are blatantly linking to the frequent "Statements by Donald J. Trump" which he uses essentially as a mouthpiece for his not very surprising opinions on this and that.

His situation was unique in that his position as president added tremendous weight to his words, and he could argue that unique element is no longer present.

My main worry is also inflation, because I remember how traumatic it was when I lived through it way back when. I haven't seen much evidence of supply chain issues myself.  I know there are shipping containers still stacked sky-high at the Port of Los Angeles, as they are still doing stories on that on our local news here.

There was a shortage of paper plates at Walgreens a few weeks ago, and apparently a shortage of certain specialty sodas at the nearby specialty soda shop has been resolved.  A set of inexpensive knitting needles with labels in Chinese arrived right on time.  I suppose idiosyncratic is the best way to describe it for now.

This is a prepared speech off a teleprompter.  Not sure I got the meaning, except that I should be paying my fair share for gas.

Makes me wonder how the meeting with Putin really went.

Ooh, proof that Biden has a stutter.

Are you focused on the stutter or what was said?

He sure "stutters" more than he used to, doesn't he?

You need to stop thinking about how Democrats vs Republicans see him.

How do you think he looks to Putin and our other enemies?

I already knew that he had released oil from the strategic oil reserves and was working with other countries to do the same, so this was not new news to me.

I don't know if he stutters more or not. I think, but I am only guessing, that Putin thinks US leaders in general are weak and easily manipulated.

Gee.  I never equated stuttering with stupidity.  It's a really complicated phenomenon and often associated with fatigue or stress.  Only an idiot would judge a person by a propensity for stuttering.  He has done a great job all his life of controlling it.

I had to snicker at Fox News covering Biden's visit to Kentucky.  They actually though are covering the story live.

I actually expected that he would be met with these chants as he gets them wherever he goes.

But their banner headline story is about a NYT columnist asking (their weird in caps is BEGS) him not to run for President again.  Continuing the narrative of his dementia.
