Preceptor inquiry

Posted

Hello I am currently working on my bsn and plan to get an msn to become an fnp. I have read several threads about needing a preceptor but I do not understand what that means. Is that required for all fnp programs or just online programs?

BostonFNP, APRN

Specializes in Adult Internal Medicine. Has 10 years experience.

All NP programs require a set dumber of hours of precepted clinical time. This is also required for national board certification.

Some programs find preceptors for students. Some now require students to find their own.
